Chapter 33 by weepingwillow weepingwillow

How does it go?

One day down

You and Darrell start working through the Call of Duty campaign, moving from mission to mission. Its actually very fun.

By the time you reach the final missions, it’s late, but you push through and at around three in the morning, you complete the final objective. The ending plays out in front of you, but your reactions are dulled by fatigue and the lingering haze. When it’s over, you don’t start anything new—you remain where you are, the controller still in your hands as your body sinks further into the couch.

Not long after, exhaustion takes over completely. Your grip loosens, your head tilts back, and you pass out there with the screen still glowing faintly in the dark. You wake in the middle of the morning with a sharp dryness in your throat, disoriented at first. You had hoped to wake up in your male body, but instead, you're still here and still in this form.

Then you realize your head is resting in Darrell’s lap, and he’s still asleep beside you, slumped and unmoving. The room is quiet, the television still on, and you pause briefly before shifting. You need water and bad, but congratulations, you just survived almost 24 hours of the game.

Nice going. What now?
