"I did it all for you, you know," Emma replied softly.

You couldn't help it; you broke out into laughter. "What a stupid, idiotic answer!"

"Well, that was mean," Siri said, clicking her tongue.

"Yea! It was! I did this because—"

"No, what you did was mean. Beyond that, actually. Vile." Siri hissed back.

"You effectively ruined my life along with the lives of every other woman here. I'm what possible fucking world could you have done this for me?" You shot back at her.

"You don't understand! Just a little more time and I would have brought him down! That's what this was all about! I raised him up so that I could utterly destroy him. He'd take the fall for the **** and be sent off to jail or worse! Then you'd finally have your ****! See? This was for you!" Tears began to steam from Emma's eyes. "You get that, right? I did it because I love you!"

"You did it because you wanted to feel good about yourself." Time to take the kid gloves off. You sighed and kept going, "I only thought about Jake once in a blue moon. Even then, it was a fleeting thought like 'I hour that asshole is having a terrible life.' he truly meant little to me. Until you brought him back into my life. Until you let him use my mom, my wife, and my friends. Because you—what?—wanted to be my knight in shining armor? You want to know the only person here who has helped me deal with Jake?" You turned to look at Siri, "she's standing right there. Do you know why it worked? Because we worked together. We trusted each other. At no point did you stop to talk to me or ask me if this was what I wanted. Honestly, it all just sounds like a poor excuse for you to amass power and cushion yourself in a comfy life."

"How could you say that? I did this all for—" SLAP

"I've had enough of that!" Siri shouted. "You ruined John's marriage — and probably a whole host of other marriages and women, too. Even if your ridiculous plan made any sense, it would still be a shit plan." Siri called over once of the other officers and had them cuff Emma. "You're fucked in the head, but we've still got plenty of questions for you and your little **** enterprise." Siri turned back to you, "are you going to be okay if I bring her in?"

You looked around, not having much else to do or say. "I'm sure I'll figure something out."

"I'll come back immediately after I'm done, okay?" She sounded worried. She has a right to be; you weren't exactly doing well. Most of your life was in shambles, but you'd worry about that later.
