On the Lam

Peyton woke up to the sound of loud knocks on the door. She woke up. It took her a few seconds to realize she was no longer in her bedroom, but what appeared to be a small motel room.

"Police! Open up! Miss List, we know you're in there!"

Peyton was confused. Had she been kidnapped, and the police were here to rescue her? She got out of the bed. She wore flannel pajamas she did not recognize. She stumbled to the the door and opened it. Two police officers, one male and one female came in.

"Peyton Roi List?" asked the male cop.

"Yes."

"You are under arrest," continued the cop.

"What?" gasped Peyton.

The female cop handcuffed Peyton.

The male cop went on. "You are under arrest for the violation of your celebrity contract. The contract you signed when you turned 18 and refused to honor."

"I don't understand! How did I get here?"

"You will have no rights until you can prove your innocence." The female cop slapped Peyton on the ass.

Eight hours later, Peyton, still in her pajamas and still handcuffed, stood before a judge with a scrawny young lawyer next to her. The judge looked at her then at a piece of paper then back a Peyton. "Peyton Roi List, when you turned 18, you signed a contract with Kincaid, VanHoller, and Kleine talent agency. According to the terms of the contract, you were obligated to work for them for 10 years and do nudes immediately and sex acts after you turned 21. However, after signing the contract, you fled and avoided your obligations."

"I did not sign...."

The judge banged his gavel. "You'll have your say." He handed the contract to the bailiff who brought it over to Peyton. "Is that your signature?"

"Yes, your honor, but...."

"A simple yes or no will do," said the judge.

The lawyer whispered to her Peyton. "Shut up and play dumb."

"And the three witnesses who signed it are all here." The judge asked three men if their signatures were on the paper and they witnessed Peyton signing, which they did.

"I find you guilty of breach of adult celebrity contract," said the judge. "Since you were on the lam for 6 years, you will spend the next six months as property of Kincaid, VanHoller, and Kleine, but first your will spend 8 hours starting tomorrow at 8 am naked and in the public stocks at Hollywood and Vine streets. After that, you will be remanded to Kincaid, VanHoller, and Kleine."

Peyton gasped.
