Who does not want to go back to the older, better, simpler times! But the modern technology is so friggin convenient right? So for purpose of this story I'll be using modern technology with some slight modifications. Some things might be off by a decade or two in either direction. Remember the times of a dial-up internet? Or when you had to climb to the roof to catch signal? Or the immortal (in more ways then one) Nokia 3310? Old GPS that gave you a rough position to 100m? That's the stuff.

Global Internet does not exist in a form we know today, every country controls their own cyberspace with cross-border connections heavily limited and monitored (and paid extra like the international calls!). In the country of interest age controls are also enabled and minors can't access pornography, and even adults have limited access to it. However publications on the level of old playboys/playgirls are available both in paper form and online (so you know, gentleman can buy them for the articles).

There are however ingenious inventors who can make bespoke items that almost outclass ones we have in our world ... if you an find them and afford their services.
