Roll +Cunning(+2) to transform Fledermaus back to Augustus
On a miss, you transform yourself into a bat! Trapped!
"Metamorpho!" you cry.
⚀⚂ + 2 = 6.
It all goes horribly wrong. There's a swirling, tumbling feeling. Your wand drops from your grasp. Your bones bend and your skin crawls with a fiery sensation. Your shriek bends weirdly up into a chirp.
Alarmed, Fledermaus takes flight.
Where there was one bat, Fledermaus, and one witch, yourself, there are now two bats flitting round a locked practice cell.
- Take a CONSEQUENCE (-1 to all rolls) for the difficulties of being a bat.
- Take an additional -2 to CAST A SPELL (without a wand, which is too long and heavy to point with your little claw feet or tiny wing hands).
- You're locked in a practice cell unless you can manage to get out. The key is on your side of the door, however.
- No HAVE SEX moves while you're a bat.
- No ENCOUNTER moves until you can get out of the cell.
- However, you're not alone. Fledermaus is really your lover and FRIEND Augustus, who owes you a FAVOR, and he's more used to being a bat. Maybe he could help you with something.
Possibilities:
- Miserably wait it out. ENCOUNTER Miss Hawk the Minerval Tutor or Euryale, the monstrous Minerval Wardress, at a -2 (for a total of -3 to CUNNING; 2d6-1) to get her help, and on a miss, GET OUT OF TROUBLE at -2 (for a total of -3 to AMBITION; 2d6-2).
- Make some sort of commotion that would attract the attention of the Wardress to open the door. Custom Move on CUNNING at a -1 (total of -2, 2d6) to try and escape by flying past Euryale before she can paralyze you with her gaze.
- Work the heavy door so you're free to roam. Custom move on BRAVERY at -1 (-2 total, 2d6-2). You'll probably want help from Fledermaus by expending a FAVOR for +2.
- Try and CAST A SPELL (as a bat, without your wand). (-3 to CUNNING for 2d6-1). Maybe Fledermaus can help. Expend his FAVOR for a +2, but he shares any backlash on a failure or complication.
- Something else?
