Chapter 6 by Twisted314 Twisted314

What's next?

Old version of sneaking around

I wasn’t even sure why I was sneaking around, but having started, I would feel kind of awkward if I suddenly stopped now.

I found out that next to my room were a dozen others. Some similar in size to mine while most seemed to share a room with sometimes two or even 3 beds.

None of the rooms were locked beside one and when I tried knocking the only answer I got was silence.

Looking out the window of the room opposite mine I had seen a courtyard of sorts with a well, tables and chairs and a small flower garden next to a pond. Still everyone seems to have gone somewhere else.

Following the corridor it seemed I left what I presumed to be a dormitory as windows now opened up on one side showing the courtyard below.

My gaze occasionally shifted downwards as the added weight was hard to ignore. Maybe I should have put the white robe underneath after all instead of keeping the nightgown on.

When I stumbled upon a large door different from the others.

The door wasn’t locked or anything just a bit heavy.

Inside I found myself on the second floor of a large library with numerous bookshelves, tables and chairs. Going down the stairs I left the library through the ground floor.

Certainly looking around might help but I prioritised finding the others for now. The next room was a classroom of sorts and exploring further I stumbled upon a large dining room easily accommodating a hundred people at-least. One side opened up to the inner courtyard while the other led to the kitchen.

What confused me the most was the utter lack of anything electronic.

When I noticed that there were no lights in the Corridor besides candles and the occasional window I chalked it up to this being a monastery.

But no matter how much they wanted to keep the building as is it didn’t make sense for them to not use modern kitchen appliances.

I had visited a castle once and this kitchen looked like it might as well be from the medieval times.

What is going on here?
