Offer to Help

“I can help,” Ethan shrugs, “Getting them on I mean.”

Layla stares at Ethan for a beat, scrunching her nose up as she considers the offer before shrugging. “Okay.” No sooner than the words are out of her mouth does she raise her hand up, offering the shoes over.

Taking them, Ethan looks down at Layla’s feet. It’s a long way down, and he feels a little bit of vertigo. One step ahead of him, Layla moves towards the arm of the couch, perching herself on the edge. Raising a foot, she wiggles her toes, motioning Ethan over.

Ethan regards her foot for a moment. It’s big, naturally, as any woman her height would need big feet, but it doesn't quite seem big enough for her.
