Off to College

“Will you quit fussing?” Matthew looked at his wife, bemused. “He’s not even moving out of the house”

“And a good thing, too!” Melissa almost snapped at her Beta husband. “He’s just a kid…”

“He seemed old enough to have you screaming last night,” Matthew sniggered. “And this morning, and then just before he left for Rudy’s…”

Melissa gave him a withering stare. “Just because our Alpha son knows how to use his cock doesn’t mean he’s a fully functioning, independent adult”

“Don’t you think you’re babying him a bit too much?”

“You would say that…” she muttered. “If Brendan has a problem with the way I act, he’ll let me know. He’s the Alpha now.” Melissa sighed. “I didn’t mean it like that, Matthew…”

"It's alright, Melissa. You're right. That's the whole point; Brendan is in charge. He's not a kid anymore."

Melissa walked over to Matthew and leaned her head on his shoulder. “He’ll still be our boy, though.”

Matthew gave his wife a hug, lifting her chin up and smiling. “He’ll always be that. But he’s our man now too; our Alpha.”

Melissa gave Matthew a quick kiss. “I guess I’m being silly. He’ll still live here, even when he goes to college.”

“Exactly. Just like most Alphas. Mind you, I think he’d enjoy a year or two in the dorms. Those parties get wild, remember?”

Melissa smiled, reminiscing. "Oh I remember. But I think of his friends, only Adam is staying in the dorms, and Zoe had to practically drag him there.”

“Didn’t she move there as well?”

“Yeah, she’s got a place at the mom dorms. I think it’ll be good for Adam; he'll see more Alpha’s in action. Poor boy doesn’t exactly have a lot of role models, not growing up in an OZ.”

“Rudy came from outside of Queen's River too, and he seems to have things well in hand.”

“Well… all boys are different,” Melissa hedged a bit before changing topics. “But never mind that; here you are, complaining about how I’m smothering him… and you’ve taken the day off to be with your son when he enrols!”

“Well.... that’s different…”

Melissa and Matthew laughed. “I guess we’re a lot alike,” Matthew said, smiling. He tried to kiss Melissa again but she drew away.

“Matthew… Brendan's going to be home any minute now I don’t want him to walk in on us...you know…”

“Right, right. Maybe when Brendan's at college he’ll let us have some fun.”

“Maybe…” Melissa said hesitantly.

Matthew didn’t seem to notice Melissa’s tone, smiling. “I tell you Mel, I haven’t felt like this much like—myself I guess—in years. It’s like a shroud has lifted you know; what with Brendan taking over. I guess this is exactly what I needed. And I think Brendan will be all right with it; with us, I mean. He hasn’t expressed an interest in marrying you or anything and obviously his needs come first. But I feel like I can be the man you need again Melissa.”

“I… oh, Brendan’s home!”

Melissa almost hopped to the front door, leaving her husband standing there, bemused. He’d always wondered if his own father had been jealous when he became Alpha. He’d always said he wasn’t, but Matthew had had a hard time believing it. But now that he was in the position himself, he understood. He’d had 23 wonderful years as Melissa's Alpha, and that wasn’t diminished just because someone else had taken over. He felt happy and proud when he saw his son capture his wife’s lips, grabbing her ass and squeezing while he made out with his mother.

Yep Matthew, you did a good job with that one, he thought to himself, chuckling. Instead of jealous he felt liberated. He'd told Melissa the truth; he hadn't felt like himself in years. But now, with Brendan taking charge, he felt like he could take on the world. He still wanted to be Melissa's husband. He told himself he'd be extra considerate of her, showing her he could still be her man, even if she did have an Alpha. Brendan will understand. he wants us to be happy.

“Hey son. Ready to enrol?”

“Yeah, let me go grab my bag and we can go.”

Matthew smiled. Brendan had grown up to be a fine man. He seemed to be handling Melissa well too. She’d… taken over from him but Brendan seemed firmly in charge. Matthew found it hard to think about the past few years. Like there was a haze over him. Even now he found it difficult to go against Melissa's preferences, but he was getting better.

Melissa flushed as Brendan ran upstairs to get his bag. Even though she knew she was really in charge, Brendan's love—his lust and raw need for her always got her going. She'd been tempted to 'let' him take her right then, had Matthew not been standing there. Not that he seemed to mind, but he did seem to be a bit stronger willed then he had been. Perhaps she'd need to start dosing him again, just to be sure. She wanted Matthew to be happy and as long as Brendan was all right with it, she'd be more then happy to fuck Matthew now and again.

Melissa stopped for a moment. As long as Brendan was alright with it? Get it together girl! she chastised herself. It’s like I'm a teenager again, falling for some young hunk with abs and a bright smile, she thought to herself. I made that smile though, it's mine.

“What are you grinning about?” said Matthew.

“Oh, just how handsome our son is” Melissa grinned back, sashaying towards Matthew. “And I’m pretty sure you’re getting some tonight, mister,” She gave him a quick kiss and squeezed his junk before reaching for the car keys. She winked as she walked out the door, Brendan bounding off the stairs behind her.

Matthew laughed before joining them, her earlier touch making him ignore that Melissa was behind the wheel even though Brendan loved to drive.
