Chapter 159 by TheOptimisticDuck TheOptimisticDuck

Does he?

Of course!

‘I –’ the kid stammers. ‘I – yeah, I mean, of course, you’re – Hermione!’

Emma’s smile never wavers. ‘That’s right, although my friends call me Emma.’ She shifts position slightly on the lounger. ‘Would you like an autograph? I’d offer you a picture, but for one thing, I really can’t have that location data flying around the internet, and for another…’ She gestures naughtily down at herself. ‘Well. I’m slightly underdressed.’

The kid’s eyes look like they’re about to pop, and you shake your head, smiling. Teasing minx, you think wryly.

‘So, can I sign something for you?’ Emma looks up at the kid expectantly, who looks like he can’t decide whether to be terrified or aroused.

‘Oh – ah, yeah, sure,’ he manages, glancing around hopefully as if something might fall out of the sky. ‘Oh! I actually have my – my writing journal…’

‘Is that right?’ Emma’s smile is for real this time. ‘You like to write? Me, too.’

The kid’s face opens up. ‘Oh, yeah,’ he tells her confidentially, ‘I – I’m actually hoping to get published one day. I mean, I’ve finished one book – it’s not great, actually, it’s probably rubbish, but it’s got dragons and wizards and cool stuff and… well…’ He trails off, looking suddenly unsure, obviously thinking that he’s just exposed himself as the world’s biggest nerd in front of Emma Watson.

But Emma’s beaming up at him. ‘Sounds brilliant. Hey, dragons are really hot right now – everyone loves Game of Thrones, and I have a little experience with wizards myself. I think you should go for it.’

You think the kid might be about to cry, he looks so pleased. ‘Oh, wow, thank – thank you,’ he gets out, before dashing back to his own lounger to pick up his book. He gets halfway back before realising he doesn’t have a pen, and has to sprint back to his bag again, flushing.

Emma casually asks his name, then signs his journal on the inside cover. She’s added a little message of her own, too, and you crane to see what she’s written.

To Rory,

Keep on writing! Us bookworms need to stick together.

Also, hope you liked my tits. ;) x

Love, Emma

‘You’re unbelievable,’ you mutter, smiling, as the kid walks off on unsteady legs. Emma just bites her lip, looking impish.

‘Well, I thought I should make it an encounter to remember, that’s all. And he did keep staring at them.’

‘I thought his eye contact was commendable,’ you protest. Emma snorts.

‘That’s because you’ve been ogling them more than he has. I’m surprised you even noticed where he was looking. But, hey…’ She settles back into her sunlounger with a sigh of comfort. ‘Look away, I guess. I did take my top off, and it is fun to tease people a little. Sometimes. I suppose.’

You snicker, relaxing back against the cushions. ‘A little? That kid’s gonna remember today for the rest of his life. I wouldn’t be surprised if he dedicates the book to you.’

Emma’s eyes sparkle. ‘Oh, God, wouldn’t that be brilliant? I’d love it if he did. I’d sign another copy.’

‘You, Emma Watson,’ you tell her meditatively, casting a long and appreciative look over her toned legs, her smooth stomach and her beautiful, exposed breasts, ‘are full of surprises. You really are.’

Emma shoots you an interested look. ‘Oh, really? And is that a good or a bad thing?’

You laugh into your hand, caught off-guard. ‘Honestly, Em… I think that’s the main reason I’m falling for you.’

The world spins on its axis, but for a moment, everything’s still.

Emma blinks at you like she thinks she’s misheard. ‘You’re falling for me?’ she repeats, as though testing the words, and you think, oh, Christ, too much, too soon?

But then her cheeks lift and her smile widens and you find yourself grinning stupidly back at her, while the sun shines high overhead.

‘That’s good,’ Emma says softly, avoiding your eyes until the last possible second, ‘because I think I might be falling for you, too.’
