Hifumi gave her a small smile which quickly melted away Futaba's anxiety. She could tell Hifumi was a lot like her. More shy and reserved. Somehow that made Futaba feel much more comfortable.

"Ren wasn't very good when we first met either. He approached me so confidently that I mistook him for a skilled player. I felt terrible after our match when he said he was a beginner." Hifumi said with a small giggle, blushing a bit. "Shall I go over the basics with you? With Ren back home, I've been looking for a new Shogi partner"

Futaba nodded and sat down beside her... Not knowing about the other - far bolder side of Hifumi that tended to come out when she played.
