Of course!

Here it is... Tuesday morning, it's time to start training and growing stronger. With my business safe and able to run on it's own for a bit, I head down for the training room, after informing the guards I won't be heading out today, that I'll be busy working on things. Entering the room, my screen pops up explaining I have options in how I can train. They are Survival, Scenario, Dungeon, Defense, and finally ****. Each is a different setting but 3 best are Survival, Defense and ****, each granting more and more rewards for how far I can get through them. Well I figured I'd try **** first, when the training began I found the room had changed completely, I found myself in an open area, a large group of enemies on the outside of the area, a screen asking if I was ready to begin. I first went looking for a tutorial, I wasn't gonna be stupid about this if I could help it. I found the tutorial all right along with...

I stared at the screens in surprise, to think I was already getting quests for these things. Well no reason not to try them all, right? With that said I hit begin and started by trying to summon elemental's to help fight off the enemies. I ended up summoning a smaller dog one made of fire, a small bird made of lightning, a small cat made of ice, a ferret made of wind and finally a rat made of earth. I tried summoning more, found that I could only summon 3 of each at the moment and good thing I could summon those extra ones, there were too many enemies here for me to fight on my own, especially one at a time. The wave started, I summoned, the enemies came rushing towards me, I noticed they seemed to be a group of normal looking thugs, not a single gun among them though some did have metal pipes or crowbars in hand. My ice summons spat out quarter sized shards of ice at them, mostly stabbing into the thugs shins, the birds circling around the thugs, sending little shocking jolts at them while what I can only describe as puppies made of fire bit and burned the legs of the thugs that didn't try to move back or avoid them. Finally I saw the ferrets and rats charge in, attacking with bites and clawing at them, the ferrets climbing up their legs leaving claw marks as the thugs freaked out, unable to focus on anything else as they tried to get the ferrets off of them, the rats doing the same. "Aw that's just the most ADORABLE kind of carnage I've ever seen..." I couldn't help but comment, one angry thug running at me and swinging his crowbar for my head.

I teleported a few feet to the side and kicked his knee from the side, he stumbled and and had trouble walking so I just moved further away from him. None of my summons being hit yet was a bit surprising to me, then I got a notification that one of my birds had been struck by a thug, my summons was such low level at the moment that even one strike was enough to defeat most of them. There was a couple thugs that started trying to help the others get the ferret's and rats off them, between the animals ice shards, bites that burned the wounds they made, a few more getting taken out as I worked on summoning new ones to replace them. Using my teleportation I did what I could to try and land some hits on the thugs, attacking with kicks, elbows, punching at thugs as I began to calm my body a bit more, slowly getting used too fighting as I continue to work through the thugs.

Before I knew it the first wave of thugs was defeated, I made sure my summons were all up, the next wave of thugs ready and waiting just outside a barrier, now there a big guy among them, built like a fridge and looking like he could barely wait to start the fight. I tried to make sure I was prepared, I was definitely gonna need to learn more about HOW to fight though, so far I wasn't really doing anything truly helpful in the fight. My summons were more a distraction for these thugs than anything though, not doing a lot of damage but they were able to keep most of them occupied. The wave started and the big guy came charging at me right away, the other thugs trying to move in and surround me, I sent my summons to all focus on the big guy, using my teleportation to avoid strikes from the other thugs, trying to strike at their blindspots whenever I could. They kept rushing me though, attacking at least 2 or 3 at a time, trying to lock me down, to stop me from escaping or striking, I had to summon replacements every few teleports, the big guy kicking and swinging at them as much as he could while they kept him from focusing on me. Everything was going alright, until the big suddenly came charging at me as the other thugs stepped aside, I felt my ribs crack as his fist slammed into them already his other fist flying for my face.

A panic teleport later and I was on the other side of the group, my summons swarming the big guy again as I struggled to get my breath back for a moment, a few thugs turning and heading for me almost right away, these bastards determined not to let me breathe if they could help it. I teleported and stomped at knee caps, punched for any spot that would cause the most pain, drove my elbow into any place that looked like it would be the weakest spot to hit. I managed to take out a few normal thugs before the big guy tried charging again, this time I teleported right away, avoiding him completely, my summons still biting and clawing at his body as he looked like he was reaching his last leg. I teleported mid attack, driving my elbow into the bridge of his nose and making him stumble back a moment, another teleport and I stomped on his right knee from the side, another teleport as he tried to swing at me in response, a punch thrown at his face with all the strength I could muster. Finally he went down, my summons moving to attack the remaining dozen or so thugs, a couple of them trying to attack me as I just focused on teleporting away from their attacks, trying to rest and recover a bit from the pain.

It took a bit of time but my summons wore down and beat the thugs, the barrier appearing again as I saw the next wave... "FUCK!" I shouted out as I saw the THREE big thugs, my system identifying them as Bruisers, a type of thug that is much stronger than normal, more durable as well. I called it there, backing out and claiming some rather meager rewards for only making it to the 3rd wave. It would likely take me some time to heal from the damage I took, I didn't wanna waste time waiting for possibly days or longer in order too heal from this, but I didn't have much... "Fuck I'm stupid sometimes... I wish to heal 1 percent faster." I started making that wish, feeling no strain from it as I'd been wishing for capital for the last year already, I felt my chest slowly starting to repair the damage. I made the wish again and again and again, bringing up a screen I saw my healing rate increasing further and further, by the time I hit 20% increased healing rate I felt the pain in my body starting to calm down allowing me to slowly breathe normally. I kept wishing, over and over again, increasing my healing further, I wasn't gonna take the risk of getting hit once and being out of the fight for who know's how long anymore.

I felt a POP in my chest about an hour later, spending my time making those wishes again and again. I also learned I can't wish my stats higher, another limitation to my abilities? Fine, I can level up and reach new heights that way anyways. I looked at my screen again, saw that my healing rate had increased to about 200% now. A few more wishes and it hit the mark, a notification popping up explaining that my healing rate has evolved, it took a little searching to see that it had become a power of it's own. Enhanced Healing.That looked helpful, but my injuries were still slowing me down a LOT. So I kept wishing, wishing that I healed faster, it didn't take long for me to see it increase further, in slight increments at least. I felt my body healing faster, felt soreness and pain fading away, felt my body recovering, then I started wishing for me body to heal better. My body began to repair damage, misuse or issues from spending so long studying so much through school healing, my need for glasses vanishing as my eyes recovered from the long nights of cramming for tests. It took another hour and a half for my rib injury to heal fully, my body healing better. I couldn't help myself, making wishes to heal faster and faster, I had raised my healing considerably by the time I got ready to head into the next training session, but first? Lunch.

Ended up heading to a diner, got a nice meal and was able to relax a bit before I started heading out, paid my bill and began to walk my way back. I needed to get somewhere I couldn't be seen so I could teleport back of course, though what didn't help was the little group of punks following me as I turned down an alleyway, a few friends of theirs stepping out and drawing out blades as they told me to empty my wallet and my pockets, slowly moving in closer. "Yeah... I'm not doing that..." I responded, the others getting closer, I just saw out the corner of my eye a woman in a blonde wig walk up behind the guys behind me. I heard a punch land as the other punks suddenly turned their focus towards her, one guy with a knife trying to grab me and get a knife to my throat. I managed to get hold of his wrist and stomp out his outstretched leg, he tried to stab me as he screamed in pain, I drove my knee into his face as I knocked the blade out of his hands. I turned my head as I finished with him, hearing a crash as I looked over to see this young woman had just finished with her own thugs, turning her head towards me a moment she asked if I was alright. I thanked her and offered to repay her for the help, she refused until I explained I'd feel bad if I didn't do something to thank her at least. I guessed this job didn't really pay and offered money to thank her, she shot that down, I offered to treat her to meal, that got shot down too. I chuckled for a moment before having one last idea, I handed her a business card. "If you ever need anything made for this job of yours? Let me know, I'll see if I can help you and before you shoot THAT down too, at least take the card just in case. If nothing else think of it as an option available too you." I said as she accepted the card with a little sigh, I thanked her again and headed off, teleporting once I was out of sight completely back to my home.

Now back to training... I was about to start with the next training session, until I saw a LEVEL UP screen pop up. My stats increasing a bit, STR: 20 AGI: 20 END: 15 INT: 50 WIS: 20 CHA: 20 LIB: 10.
My level having reached 25, only two waves got me 5 levels? I was more than a bit surprised, but it helped me to get stronger so might as well take advantage while I can! With that thought I hit start for Defense and found myself brought into a big dining room area, a huge set of double doors as an entrance, something thumping against it again and again. I brought up a screen and saw that I got some points to spend? Looking through the screens and reading some tutorials that popped up explained to me that I could use points to place defensive traps, call on defensive units, all to stop enemies from reaching the massive crystal in the back of the room. So first thing I did was I set up some traps and summoned my animals, making all the preparations I could before hitting start, the doors breaking down and bursting inward as creatures that my system identified as Orcs and Goblins came running in with clubs. Traps activated, defenses launching their attacks, my summons charging in to stop the enemies, the ones wearing metal armor getting shocked over and over again by the lightning animals, the fire ones burning enemies, other animals launching ice shards, little gusts of wind pushing enemies back slightly, sharp rocks poking up to stab their feet as they try to get closer.

I was stuck standing guard, wishing I had something for long range attacks, starting to think I should just make a fucking gun to mow these creatures down with... A few waves later and the enemies were starting to get close enough to engage myself, my attacks were pretty reckless all things considered, but I was at least doing some damage and slowing them down. I barely made it to wave 5 when I got a break, the walls suddenly falling down as I saw the barrier the enemies HAD been coming through go flying back, stretching in size massively. I saw a few hundred feet away, the barrier stopped moving, a massive field now between it and the crystal, but I also saw an enormous amount of enemies gathering on the other side. I went back and sold my traps, getting the points back and using them to start setting up new defenses for what would clearly be a MUCH larger wave. I got all the points back so I decided to use them to try and get as many defenses as I could set up, I just managed to get a bank of archers, three lines of archers all prepared to fire huge volleys at enemies. I got a few more for good measure, a screen popping up to inform me I could upgrade them, give them faster fire rates, higher damage, even give their attacks homing abilities. I tried to make as many archer banks as I could, upgrading them with homing shots and higher fire rates as much as I could before I set up some traps that would slow enemies down, changing the terrain to make these enemies slow down, some sort of tar like trap by the looks of it. I found I could upgrade them into slime traps instead, that would slow the enemies down more but also deal a bit of damage, draining the health of enemies trying to get through them slowly. At first I tried to create some bottlenecks, to **** the enemies into areas that would make them gather together, that would allow my summons to attack them while they were trapped in the slime traps.

The wave began once I finished preparing, my summons waiting to attack enemies as soon as they came out. My summons didn't have much to do for a bit though, the archer banks were firing often and their arrows were turning enemies into pin cushions, very DEAD pincushions. The next wave got farther, coming with an increase in numbers along with a new enemy that regenerated at a fair pace, the archers slaughtered the new Troll type enemies with ease when they came out. My summons were able to attack and slow down the trolls fairly well actually, the archers firing and bringing down any enemies that tried rushing forwards, good thing too once I noticed these smaller but much faster enemies called Kobolds charging through the traps with barely any loss of speed. Then there was a loud howl/growl that echoed out, something called a Gnoll appearing and running fast, right past the traps and heading for me! It looked like an upright hyena, if they had hands and wielded what looked like swords dripping with some sort of poison, the archers bombarding them to **** FAST whenever they showed up. Thank FUCK for those homing attacks, I was NOT looking forward to getting stabbed by any of them. My summons focused on the Trolls, mostly being ignored while the archers brought down anything moving fast first, then targeting the larger clusters of enemies.

By the time wave 9 rolled around I'd gotten a nice chunk of points, I was only a little over 10k points but still it was helpful. I was tempted to hit start right away but I got a warning message about a boss fight being on wave 10. Should I try it? Up my defenses as best I can and try to bring down whatever boss it is as quickly as possible? Or should I pull back, cash in my points and come back to challenge a boss some other time? This was my first attempt at a Defense run, it might not be a good idea to risk it and potentially lose a lot of my points, or possibly even risk injury... I would back out of this for now, sell my defenses first and cash in on my points before returning from the training room. First thing to do? I need a long range weapon. BADLY. So I headed for the lab and started looking through it to see what I could possibly make...

Huh... Well lets see what's available then. Among those available blueprints was an assortment of **** rifles, shotguns, pistols, snipers, crossbows, bows and more, all with a special option attached that wasn't described yet. Maybe I had to make one first in order too learn about that? First things first though, I needed to make a decision, I would also need to learn about these weapons not too mention the ammo... With all that in mind I thought about heading for the gun store or possibly seeing about learning from a merc instead, I thought about asking if the league could help find someone that was available for the job...

Okay so there's LEGENDARY quests now. I guess there will likely be other things besides learning how to shoot that these might focus on? ... So now came the question, do I ask the League for a recommendation? Or do I try finding one on my own?
