Chapter 5 by Shadondrake Shadondrake

Do you believe her?

Obviously Not!

"Okay, this is clearly some kind of joke, where's the hidden camera?" You questioned. Doubting what you felt had to be a joke. I mean possession, mind control, personality cloning, or whatever this is, all that's just fiction. You knew of a few claims, but almost all have been disproved, and those that haven't are still extremely suspicious.

"No cameras, but I can understand why you wouldn't believe me. So why don't I prove it to you, ask me any questions, ones that only yourself could know." Her sly grin did not easy your worries, but if she really wants to play this joke, he'll ask her an impossible question.

"Well then, what was my initial character idea for the tabletop one-shot back in high school?" You asked, you never told people the first character you worked on, realizing how cringy it was after someone's short skit on 'common character mistakes'. You you luckily didn't get too far, but you had a name, race & class, and a general idea of who they were.

"Oh ho ho, so you want that secret to be spilled? Well then if you insist..." Alex(you?) were genuinely starting to worry you, but you didn't get a chance to consider retracting it before she leaned in and softly told you "His name was Mordred Umbra, a **** obsessed 'warrior' who wished to **** people just for the fun of it. He was gonna be super out of place for a valentine's day themed one shot. If I remember correctly the flaws were, Main character syndrome, overly edgy backstory idea, abilities that break the story, a 13th warrior. Need I go on?" And your mouth was just hanging open.

No way. This CAN'T be possible, no way could you just clone your mind into her body. Is this some trick Alex has, it has to be. But then how did she know about that total dumpster fire of an idea, she even used a reference to the 13th warrior. That video was taken down, you'd tried to find it recently but couldn't, so she had to know it directly.

"Are you planning to catch flies, or am I just that beautiful?" She teased/flirted. She didn't act like you at all, what's going on? The waitress came with some light snacks and 2 drinks, the ones placed in front of you was a simple butter biscuit and a light roast coffee. You didn't recognize what dish Alex had gotten, but you tell it was some kind of toast and a dark roast coffee.

"Enjoy your date, Miss." The waitress said, smiling at both of you, before walking off. This left you with a small blush, 'Alex' had put you into a bit of a bind, walking out on her would make you seem like a jerk. You also wouldn't turn down a date with a girl this attractive, so leaving now would probably waste you chance.

It would take you a moment to gather your thoughts, so you tried your coffee, it was exactly your preferred mix, and the butter biscuit was your usual pick. No way could she know your coffee preferences. Hell, you haven't even been to this shop before.

"I'm gonna need more of an explanation. How can you be 'me' when you don't really act like it? How is it even possible?" You said, looking straight at Alex, still kinda doubting this whole thing.

"Well there are 2 reasons for that. Alex created a persona to deal with 'jokesters' who don't take workouts seriously, my real personality isn't nearly as cold. And I'm super confident about my body, so when your mind got added, Alex's confidence overrode our usual nervousness." She explained, which you felt made sense. But still, how? Alex seemed to sense your question and continued, periodically taking sips from her drink.

"When you thought about wanting to know what she was thinking, it seemed like your mind got copied into this body, with Alex's mind becoming almost like a mod program, or maybe it's DLC. My mind kinda ran two lines of thought for a few minutes, before everything settled into place. I'm still 'Alex' but I'm also now you." Of course you still thought it was ludicrous, but Alex proven to you that she knew stuff only you could know.

"It takes but a thought to switch from an Arthur primary personality." She said, her voice being more husky and flirty. "And an Alex primary personality." Her voice being more cool and calm. "I'm still controlled by your mind regardless. It's like switching on a filter, as Arthur I feel almost drunk on the sensations of being Alex, but as Alex I feel a lot more familiar with my body."

"Okay this is starting to confuse me, you referring to yourself as Alex, Arthur, and stuff like me and I. Could you please stop with that, or are you gonna start using a royal 'we' instead?" You asked, already confused with the mixing of 'you' and 'her' from her talk. Though you did joke to try and lighten the mood.

"Sure, I'll stick to referring myself as Alex, and stop 'mixing your identity' with mine. And no, I'm not a plural, I'm still 'me', but now I'm more then I was." Alex said.

"Let's move to the whole 'I was able to copy my mind' issue, am I psychic or something?" You ask.

"I'm not sure what your power is. We'll probably need to experiment with it, but it seems to be a form of telepathy. I can even hear your thoughts if I focus." She said. But that last bit brought an obvious question.

"You can hear my thoughts?" You didn't think it could get weirder, but it did.

"Yep, can't you feel that weird itch in the back of your head. I can hear your thoughts, so I figured it would go both ways."

You paused at that, had felt an itch in the back of your mind since the handshake. But you'd been pushing it to the back of your mind. So you tried pulling it forward to listen to it. After a moment you were able to make out something. 'My address is 1234 sample lane' in her voice, meanwhile Alex was taking a long sip.

"You address is 1234 sample lane?" You said, but it was also kind of a question. Her response was just to reach into her purse and hand show you her Driver's License, which confirmed what her address was. You then picked up another thought due to still being tuned into her head.

'So will we continue this back at my place, or will it be your apartment we'll screw around in?'

Your face lit up with a blush as Alex looked at you with an almost thirsty look, despite the drink she was currently having. The innuendo being clear, the telepathy making it impossible to misunderstand.

(A/N: Sorry if this chapter is a bit wordy with the chat. I felt this was the most natural way to progress things. Next chapter might take a while though.)

Who's place will you head back to?
