Your Place, for now.

It took you a few minutes to calm down from 'Alex' flirtations, as well as think over what the next steps were gonna be. But you ordered your thoughts and decided what made sense to you. You had already returned the driver's license to her while you two finished your respective snack and drink.

"Does you have any roommates?" You asked Alex, as you need to experiment with your abilities, but you don't know how you'd explain such a thing to strangers.

Alex took a moment to think, before saying "Ya, I live with my sister, she might come how while we're there." she realized where you were going with this, and followed with "You don't want to try explaining all this, and don't think you can bluff your way out?"

Guess there were advantages to the other person sharing your mind(set).

"Pretty much, even though my(our?) apartment is just a studio, there should be enough room to experiment. Nobody will bother us, only the Landlord has a spare key right now." You said, pointing out the advantage to going to your place. It's not like you needed acres of land to test a destructive power. It's purely mental, at least from what you'd guess.

"But we'd also need someone who we could test on, I mean unless you aren't planning to just 'experiment'?" She replied, winking at the last word. You blushed yet again, but instead of just staying flustered, you pulled out your phone and typed up some stuff on a Notepad app.

"Look, do you agree that we can use my place, or do you have a relevant argument on bringing in someone else on this, 'Situation' we're in?" You asked pointedly, getting bugged at the flippant attitude to the whole thing. Was it Alex, or 'your' personality that is causing it.

"Right" she said, sitting up straight and looking at you. "For now we'll test alone, then if we get nowhere, I know a friend who would be willing to keep things on the down low. I can invite them, they'll just the 'no myths or magic' Alex wouldn't joke about this kind of thing." She finishes, before pulling out her credit card and getting up.

"I'll pay this time, meet you there." She said with a firm but polite tone, before walking off. You just had to shrug it off and head back home.

The drive to your place was kinda tense, you were considering what these 'powers' could be. You did take some logical leaps, stuff like the ability is repeatable and not permanent. Otherwise this would be one of the freak accidents and you'd have no idea what would be the next steps.

You thought about if your powers was only telepathy or if you could physically project things. You also question if your powers transfer with your 'copies', can they project as well, could they project memories or knowledge from the person they are in?

While at a red light, you tested your telepathic connection, and discovered that while you could sense general stuff(their direction/distance relative to you, current emotional state, etc.) but couldn't communicate. This means your powers are definitely distance based.

Finally when you arrived to your apartment, you climbed the steps. It was called a Studio apartment, but it wasn't a literal studio apartment. It was a 3 'room' place, the main room/kitchen, a wall partially separating the bedroom, then there was a bathroom. You didn't have a washing machine or dryer, as there was a laundry mat nearby that the rental agency also runs, quite affordable compared to one with a washer and dryer.

The place was kinda barren, you'd only just moved in so mostly you just had a bed, a desk with your work/personal PC, a small table and some folding chairs. There was also a small TV cabinet you had in your bedroom, a console was plugged into it for your gaming needs.

You worked on CAD, or Computer Assisted Designs, for machines and 3D printers. Basically you create digital models to construct custom orders, you also interviewed a machinist in college, to learn why designs need to be realistic. You saw some of the impossible parts that were available for construction, even got a chart for the stock drill bits that every shop 'should' have.

You decided to clean up, though there wasn't much beyond folding up a hobby project you were doing and pulling out a table and chairs for your upcoming talk.

Once Alex arrived you let her in, feeling her approach and hearing her think 'Knock knock, delivery of one sexy girl'. You immediately recalled what you were gonna ask. You let her in and sat down, she immediately locked up and sat across from you. You stumble over your words for a moment, before steeling yourself to ask the main question.

"Okay, what is with the whole flirting thing, is that 'me' being a narcissist, or is that from Alex?" you asked, being slightly annoyed at the constant comments, if they were from your clone it would be a bit depressing.

'Hmm' Alex said before she leaned the chair back, closing her eyes in thought, before opening them and responding.

"I guess it's 3 things mixing together. The minor fact was emotional parasitism via your power, whenever I flirt with you, I can tune into your emotions, so it reinforces the flirting with the emotional spike you get." Alex started with, making you kinda confused, the clone feels your emotions. You did feel them before but you hadn't considered that.

"The other 2 is a mixture of Alex and you. Alex considers you moderately attractive, like she might go on a date with you, but she wouldn't necessarily go for you." She continued, not letting you go off in thought about the first issue.

"However, with 'you' being in here, her checklist for a romantic partner was able to be tested against all of you. And well, you are a pretty decent guy, if a bit socially awkward, and Alex finds a slight thrill in making someone flustered. She definitely would be a possible girlfriend, though you would have needed to luck out and flirt with her outside of the gym." She finished, to which you just felt relief.

"Well then, I guess we should try testing my powers, to see what I, or maybe 'we', can do." You said, getting excited to experiment with your mysterious powers.
