Obtain The Fantastic Four's Sperm

It was a plan startling in its simplicity. The Invisible Woman had access to the Baxter Building. Through her, Moonstone could gain direct access to the Fantastic Four's DNA. The one thing that they couldn't stand against would be their own progeny! Of course, Moonstone knew she would have to work toward her goal slowly. Doom's implants augmented her powers to let her suggest things to Sue Storm, but they weren't mind control. Complex triggers and behaviors would take time. Patience.

Moonstone could be very patient.

"Your lifestyle must be very dangerous," Dr. Stone said, her voice tight with concentration. "All that exposure to radiation. All that chance for injury. Have the Fantastic Four prepared for...eventualities?"

Sue Storm sat slumped in her chair, barely nodding.

"Reed has stored a sperm sample. Just in case we want more kids," Sue murmured.

"And the Human Torch? The Thing?" Moonstone pressed.

"No—not yet—"

"That's irresponsible, isn't it?" Moonstone pressed. "After all, anything could happen."

"Yes," Sue said softly. "Anything...could happen..."

"Maybe someone should say something to them. Give them a little nudge. It's the responsible thing to do," Moonstone felt a sharp pain behind her eyes, tasted copper in her mouth. Synaptic seepage already...

"It is the responsible thing to do," Sue Storm said.

"Just think," Moonstone said, as blood began to ooze from one nostril. "You would be saving the next generation of the Fantastic Four."

"You want me to what?" Johnny Storm said, his voice low.

They were at the kitchen counter in the Baxter Building. Ben had taken the kids for a day trip to New Jersey to visit the Pine Barrens with some of the teenage heroes. Reed was in his lab. She'd already spoken to him, and after she'd explained the logic, he had begun preparing sample dishes and making preparations. All Sue had to do was convince Johnny and Ben to do their part.

"Reed has a sample in one of the secure medical freezers in the vault downstairs," Sue said. "You know the dangers we face. If a Skrull raygun hit you...or there was a burst of ionizing radiation..."

She gave a sigh.

"Look, just think about it, okay? Because while I know you don't want to settle down and have kids right now, you might someday. And I wouldn't mind if Franklin and Valeria had some cousins."

It was a low blow, and Sue Storm knew it. She rarely guilted her brother into doing anything, but suddenly this seemed more important. She played her trump card.

"You know, after you've got a sample on deposit, you could get that vasectomy you've been thinking about. No more needing to worry about getting any of your girlfriends pregnant. It would be a great relief to my mind. I wouldn't even mind if you brought them back here."

Johnny's eyes went wide. No skanks in the Baxter Building had been one of Sue's golden rules.

"Really? Well...I guess I...could give it some thought..." he said.

She smiled.

"Talk to Reed when you're ready."
