James looked at Jessica, a mixture of anticipation trembling in his eyes. "You know, 'Oblivious' sounds intriguing. Let's give it a try."

Jessica nodded, her curiosity piqued. "I agree, James. Even though I don't fully understand the description, it's worth a shot."

With a shared determination, they turned their attention back to the Arcanum Grimoire. Jessica took a deep breath and began to recite the incantation in Latin, the ancient words rolling off her tongue with a certain grace. James watched in awe, as the room seemed to hold its breath in anticipation.

As the last syllable hung in the air, they waited in silence. The room remained still, the air unchanged. There was a moment of uncertainty, a palpable tension that hung in the air.

Finally, when they saw that nothing happened, Jessica closed the book and carefully put it away. "Well, that was…interesting," she mused, her voice tinged with a mixture of curiosity and confusion. Her brow furrowed as she looked around the room, a faint trace of confusion in her eyes.

James watched her, a sense of foreboding creeping over him. "Jessica, are you alright?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern. But to his shock, she didn't respond. She didn't even look his way, she continued to scroll her phone. It was as if she couldn't see him or hear him at all.

Panic welled up within James, his heart pounding. He reached out to touch her arm, but she didn't even flinch nor did she turn in his direction. A chill ran down his spine, and he realized with a sinking feeling that the "Oblivious" spell had worked in a way they hadn't anticipated. Jessica was truly oblivious to his presence, and James seemed to be like a ghost in her presence.
