Chapter 196 by zewesman zewesman

“My lord, we are happy to see you are both unscathed. Shall we continue?” asked Gali.

Obessions

“I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose.” The defeated general of the Nazi Technikdivision wing repeated to herself in her office. For one who had never lost a fight and was the ultimate battler in the digital realm, to be bested by their enemy and, even worse, two small Abyssal children were somehow able to power up their Digimon to a Super Ultimate! Not even her Digimon had ever gotten that strong! Yet her enemy, John Newman, the man who bested the Order was able to best even her! She had never lost a fight against any Order mage she ever encountered. Yet she was bested by this filthy commoner mage. She was a von Ribbentrop, descendant of one of Hitler’s chosen! She would not allow her family name to be sullied by this John Newman! She would find him, she would fight him, and she would best him. Sadly, she did not know how for all she could focus on was one thing. “I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose. I can’t lose.”

“My dear girl, are you still hung up on that?” asked the curvaceous professor as she went into the office. “Come now, Emilia, I also lost to John Newman and you don’t see me having a mental breakdown, now do you?” pointed out the necromancer knowledgeable professor.

“Shut your mouth, commoner…” Emilia said to the woman who seemed to snap her out of her mental lock. The professor got a chuckle out of Emilia’s weak response.

“Is this really the young von Ribbentrop genius who had mastered technomancy at the age of 10? The youngest general in the history of the Nazi party? The fearsome Digimon Empress whose barriers are so powerful they can disable all magic save for technomancy? Looks like my undead will overtake your little digital pets and I’ll be the favored leader,” taunted the woman to the young lady.

“I...will...not...LOSE!” she said with a sudden burst of energy as she shot up out of her chair and stood directly in front of the only other person in the room. Sadly, the professor was still taller than her so she still had to glare upwards. “I will not lose to you Claire!” she shouted. Claire let out a hearty laugh.

“I am glad you are back to your normal self, Emilia. The others here are so dreadfully boring,” she said as she moved over to a chair and sat down. “You and your tech mages are far more interesting to be around,” she told her friend.

“So,” started Emilia as she went and took a seat behind her desk. “You had a run-in with John Newman as well?” she asked, with a hope to learn more information on her new mortal enemy.

“Oh I did, my dear,” started Claire. “I must say, I was not expecting him to use necromancy,” she told her younger colleague. Emilia’s face contorted into a look of confusion, as necromancy was not a common magic to be used by mainstream mages. “I know that look. I was also surprised to see that. But it seems Mr. Newman has been blessed by more than one god,” Claire explained.

“Wait, what do you mean?” asked Emilia. “Our intel says he has been blessed by Gaia, there is nearly no god greater than her!” she said in a matter of fact tone.

“Yes, yes, I know. But there are a few, the two are well known by you and your people, but the other is known by those who study my magic, the great goddess, ****,” answered Claire. Emilia slumped down in her chair as she let that information sink in. Of all the gods that could rival Gaia’s power, **** would be one of the few that could. In fact, that was one of the few that could probably kill Gaia, as **** eventually takes all.

“So he can use the power of **** as well as the power of technology? This man is far too powerful to be left alive. We must end him, for our glorious Führer! With Newman gone, he will be able to rise and take proper control of this world! As he was denied before!” Emilia said, in full support of the propaganda she had been fed since a small child.

“Yes, yes, hail Führer and all that,” Claire said as she waved her hand in dismissal of the propaganda being spewed at her.

“You know Claire, sometimes I find your lack of faith..disturbing,” she said in a very serious voice.

“Do not quote the old texts to me, child! I was there when they were written!” countered Claire in a stern voice. A moment of silence followed as the two stared intently at each other. The silence was finally broken as the two women burst out laughing.

“Man, you always find a quote to beat mine!” she said as she got out of her chair.

“Of course, child, I’ve seen all those movies many times before you did. Or have you forgotten that I showed them all to you?” she asked as Emilia came over and sat on her lap.

“I knoooooooooooooooooow!” she said as she snuggled into her big sister-like friend. “Can we watch some more movies tonight?” she asked.

“Well, I don’t think we’ll have any free time until John Newman is found. And both of us not capturing him probably has the higher ups not happy,” pointed out Claire.

“Why is he even here?” wondered Emilia.

“Well, my sweet, I have an idea on what that could be,” she said as she pondered over her interactions with John and his group. “I believe I saw the sister of one of my guests in his party. I’m sure they’re on a rescue mission for them,” she said.

“Ah, that would make sense. So you alerted the MP's so they could capture those interlopers, right?!” asked Emilia with a hope to be able to punish John for his transactions against her in her Digital World barrier.

“Now, why would I do that, my sweet?” asked Claire. “No no no. After our meeting, I have gained a new hypothesis and I wish to test it out. And for that to happen, I need him to fall into my own trap, and not that of those boorish MP’s. No, I think he may be the key, my dear Digital Empress, to completing my ultimate project!” cackled Claire as she thought of her final project being completed. A shiver ran down her spine at the mere thought of it being completed. A tiny bit of wetness appeared between her legs as she thought of the infinite possibilities her project would create once it was completed.

Before Emilia could confront her friend about her allowing an enemy to run rampant in their base, a series of explosions rock the base as alarms start to blare.
