Chapter 180 by Sarckle Sarckle

What's next?

Oak vs Ketchum

“Two more amazing trainers in our next matchup. Blue Oak of Pallet Town and Ashley Ketchum of Celadon City,” Lance introduces the next match on the screens of the waiting room.

“That bitch,” Jack says, taking you in for a hug. “She set you up.”

You’re a little dazed from the interview. Did you really just relay your dreams to the world, your probably controversial, at least among the people who actually have power over you, dream. Would every guy going forward take that much more out upon you?

“It will be okay. After the tournament, you’ll lay low. Let some of the hate die down, and stay in groups.”

“Yea, that sounds good,” you respond. Just wait out the storm. You look to the screen, “Why is Blue using his Beedrill against Mawile?”

Jack turns her attention. “He knows about her Zoroark. Beedrill’s bug type moves have type advantage.” Blue’s partner stabs its needle arms at the dodging Mawile, or Zoroark.

Knowing that Ashley was cheating, you had just assumed that you would probably be going against her. But maybe you shouldn’t underestimate Blue. Then you see Beedrill’s arm scratch against the Mawile’s maw. The illusion doesn’t break. It’s not Zoroark. But did Blue not see it? He’s still using twineedle.

“He didn’t see it,” Jack says. So she agrees. You watch the tv together, holding hands. Mawile dodges around Blue’s attacks. And then blasts the bug with a flamethrower.

“That’s an unfortunate turn of events for Blue, can he come back or will this early lead spell victory for Ashley?” Lance keeps his professional air about him.

“I hope he doesn’t send out his Dragonair,” Jack mumbles. What a turn of events. All it takes is the detestable Ashley to make Jack actually root for Blue. The lesser of two evils.

You both let out a sigh of relief as Blue releases a Lopunny onto the battlefield. The two agile pokemon dance around the battlefield. Lopunny launching kicks, while Mawile attempts to wrap its giant maw around the rabbit. One, two, Lopunny connects a double kick with Ashley’s pokemon. And realization fades against Blue’s face, his Beedrill didn’t stand a chance.

Mawile gathers energy. “Focus blast,” Jack gasps, “Team Rocket’s funding is coming through. Ashley is using a ton of TM moves.”

The blast hits Lopunny and it doesn’t look good for her. She’s barely holding on. Even the lightest touch would be enough to finish off Blue’s second pokemon. Then she shines a reflective sheen and a returning focus blast fires towards Mawile. The mirror coated move is enough to secure the knock out for Blue. But Lopunny isn’t in any condition to actually battle, so Blue recalls his partner too.

“It cost him 2 pokemon but Blue managed to take out Ashley’s impressive Mawile. She’s got an early lead, and with her skills that might be enough.”

The two battlers throw out their next partners. Ashley’s Umbreon vs Blue’s Sylveon. “Yes,” Jack pumps her fist in the air. You chuckle at her excitement. With the type matchup, this is Blue’s chance to even the playing field.

Umbreon charges forward, it ducks its head, powering through Sylveon’s disarming voice. And as it closes in, Umbreon’s tail turns a metallic color before slamming into Sylveon. More TMs from Ashley, with iron tail dealing massive damage against Sylveon. Blue tries to recover some of Sylveon’s health with a draining kiss, but Umbreon’s iron tail is too much.

“This is quickly turning into a one-sided battle.”

“I don’t think Blue is going to win,” you squeeze Jack’s hand.

Jack turns from the screens. “Okay, so you’re fighting Ashley. We knew it was a possibility.”

“For sure, I’ll just have to go up against a cheating bitch and somehow win.”

“Exactly,” Jack laughs.

Golbat falls to Umbreon. Blue’s Dragonair barely manages a win against Umbreon. Before being crushed by her Zoroark. And Ivysaur tries its best to overcome, but it can’t beat Ashley’s Zoroark let alone the other 3 pokemon in Ashley’s team.

“That’s the end. Ashley Ketchum of Celadon City wins the match, and moves on to the finals to match up against Amber of Pallet Town. It will be quite the match. The ultimate finale to this year’s Rookie Tournament!” The crowd cheers to Lance’s words.

Ashley and Blue return to the waiting room. Blue quickly passes through, a scowl on his face. You’ll have to find him later, since you won the bet. But for now, your focus is on Ashley.

Nurse Joy and a Chansey enter the room with a mobile healing machine. Pokecenter Pharmaceuticals written across the side of the machine. The familiar face of Joy takes your pokemon and Ashley’s as well.

The black haired woman turns to you and Jack. “You should run. When I win, I’m going to cane your ass until you’re begging me to stop. Then I’ll just keep going, until you’re whimpering pile of red flesh and blood. Then, I’ll fuck your ass with my strap-on. And after I grow bored, finally use your tear-stricken face as a grinding plate for my own pleasure.”

You gulp, “Oh yea. Well when I win, I’ll, I’ll.” You honestly hadn’t thought that far ahead. You of course want to win, but something about Ashley and the knowledge of her cheating makes you doubt yourself.

Her devilish grin crosses her face knowing that you don’t have a credible threat. “Thank you for waiting. We’ve restored your pokemon to full health. We hope to see you again!” She wheels the mobile healing cart out of the waiting room.

“Good luck,” Jack hugs you tight. A kiss to your lips, “And I love you.” She repeats the words and your heart flip flops in your chest.

“I love you, too,” you say.

“Ah isn’t that sweet,” Ashley mocks with a scowl. “I look forward to destroying all of you.”

You and Ashley walk out onto the battlefield once again. “And for our final match! Ashley Ketchum of Celadon City vs Amber of Pallet Town in what is sure to be a thrilling battle of the ages!”
