Spider-Man broke the brief kiss. There was a slight pause as the two breathed. Cat then lifted herself up slightly and kissed him back; small, sensual kisses. She wanted him so badly, was it finally-

He pressed against her shoulders, pushing her back to the floor as he pulled back slightly.

"I'm sorry. I can't." He breathed, sitting on the floor, "I-I don't know what came over me."

"Hey, it's alright." Cat comforted, sitting back upright. Damn, she was so close. But, she couldn't push him or it would ruin everything, "You don't need to apologise, we both just got carried away by the moment. I understand."

"Why'd it have to be her?" He sobbed, pulling his knees into his chest. It was sad to see him this way, but she knew it would be worth it. Cat crawled over and wrapped her arms around him from behind, giving him a strong hug, "I love her so much, and I just don't know what to do without her."

"I know you do, it's alright. I'm here for you." Cat said calmly in his ear. He turned to look at her.

"Thank you for today. You're a great friend."

"It's nothing. If you need someone to talk to, I'll always be here for you." Cat replied calmly. Fuck, that was just what she wanted to hear, fucking friend. He stood up, breaking her hug and turned away. She could see him lift his mask and wipe his arm across his face.

"I should probably head off." He stated, pulling his mask back down, "Thank you again, I'll see you around."

"No problem, see you soon." Cat replied as he jumped off the roof. She watched him swing away into the city. He was going to grieve, it was to be expected. She'd gotten so close to having him today, it wouldn't be much longer, he'd just need to accept MJ was gone.
