What happens during her travels?
Nothing
The forest was peaceful, tranquil even. Kaya's trek took her through a game trail that was well-worn by something or other that had walked this path for many years. The forest was so thick and shaded that travel was very confusing, there's no way to know what direction she'd gone, or if she'd gone in circles, so she just walked.
A little frog croaked on the side of the trail.
A winged lizard stared at her with enormous yellow eyes.
An owl hooted in the distance, eager for night.
