Nothing that they'd admit to

The five friends waited outside the cabin for a good minute or so before entering. Brandon was sitting on the couch in a pair of cargo shorts, thumbing through a magazine as they went inside. There was no sign of Ashley, save for the sound of running water coming from the shower in the hallway.

“My cousin back yet?” the group’s hostess asked.

“Nope. No sign of him,” Brandon replied.

“So, what’d you two do while we were gone?” the brunette inquired.

“Swam. Watched TV. Played cards,” the football star answered.

“BORING!” Heather mocked as she went to put her bag away.

“How was the hike?” Brandon asked his remaining friends in the room.

“Awesome! We found bear prints and Gavin taught us how to make plaster casts of them,” Victoria commented as she showed him her souvenir. Chloe wondered at the omission of Zack’s role in their impromptu science class.

“COOL! Might have to take Ashley and me up there so we can make our own,” Brandon stated, as his girlfriend came out of the shower.

As the teens recounted their hike for Brandon and Ashley, head lights flashed through the windows. Kurt was back. Brandon and Zack went out to help him carry in their supplies.

“Charcoal can go in the closet by the door, Brand,” said Kurt, “Too late for a barbeque tonight.”

“Too late for much of anything else either,” Chloe said.

“I got pizza out in the car. My treat for taking too damned long,” he apologized.

“PIZZA?” Ashley and Victoria looked at each other and bolted for the door and fetched their dinner.

“Oh, in case Heather forgot to tell you: Those two LOVE pizza,” Zack informed him, which got a round of laughter from the group.

“Kurt, did you get the tampons?” Heather asked as her two friends returned with six pizzas.

“Yeah, I got your damned tampons; they’re out in the car. You can go get them, cousin. I’ve carried that box around enough today. I got laughed at by every guy our age and not a single woman wanted to talk to me because of that,” Kurt fumed.

“I’m sorry, but at least we have them if we need them, right girls?” Heather teased. The other females giggled.

“You mean you don’t need them right now?” He asked.

“Nope!” they replied in unison.

“I hate you!” he told his cousin with a laugh.

With that the group dove into the pizza Kurt had been kind enough to buy for everyone. He had gotten two plain cheese and two pepperoni pies for the finicky eaters and one mushroom pie, and a half Hawai’ian, half barbeque chicken pie for the more adventurous eaters. Ashley and Victoria stayed true to their fashion and each grabbed one cheese and one pepperoni slice.

“DAMN! This is good!” Zack exclaimed as he bit into his first-ever slice of Hawai’ian pizza.

Brandon and Ashley sat side by side, cutting up their slices with a knife and feeding each other. Chloe and Victoria stared at them as if they were watching a movie.

“Aww!” the two girls sighed. Kurt and Gavin just rolled their eyes.

“Hey Zack! You’ve got some barbeque sauce on your cheek,” Heather informed him.

Not wanting to look like a pig, he swiped his cheek with his hand, completely unaware that it was said hand, and definitely not his cheek, that was covered in sauce.

“Got it!” Heather snickered as the boy unknowingly spread sauce on himself. He quickly looked in the mirror on the wall and saw it.

“YOU SUCK!” he laughed as he gave her the finger and reached for another slice.

“So how was the hike?” Kurt asked.

“It was great. Heather got a date for prom,” Zack informed the group as the brunette filled her mouth with pizza. Ashley and Brandon looked at each other and wondered whether it was Zack or Gavin that would be the lucky guy.

“THUT ULP!” Heather tried to shout with a mouthful.

“Really?” Kurt nodded at the hockey star, figuring he asked her to go with him

“Yup! She got humped by a ninety-pound black lab,” he laughed.

“HAHA! ROSCOE!” Kurt shouted as his cousin kicked her roommate under the table.

“You are so dead tomorrow!” Heather threatened Zack.
