Nothing. On to route 2

You woke up feeling well rested. You took a second to realize you were not in your bed back home. Then your gaze rests on the pokeball belt on the nightstand next to you. Charmander was resting in his pokeball and you couldn't resist a smile. It was thanks to him after all you were now on your pokemon journey. Speaking of him, I bet he is probably hungry. He only had a slight snack for dinner yesterday. Releasing him from his pokeball, you set out the small collapsible bowl for him full of pokefood. He deserved a hearty breakfest after all. Today you were setting out on route two. Odds are there will be a few trainers I might run into.

"Char!" Charmander gave a growl of contentment as he chowed down happily on the pokefood I had set out for him. Speaking of food, I should ask the nurse if they serve breakfest for tainers here.

"Charmander, I am going to go see if they serve breakfast. Behave yourself while I am gone okay?" I was holding the door open now while I awaited his response.

"Char!" With a dip of his head in my direction he then returned back to his meal. Quite happily content to chow down on his meal.

Shutting the door to my room I walked down the hallway to the main lobby where the pink haired nurse was waiting.

"Good morning nurse, oh I didn't even ask you your name yesterday. I'm so sorry." I slightly dipped my head in apology. I can't believe I didn't even ask her for her name yesterday. I was in such a hurry to get charmander healed up I forgot to ask.

"Good morning, and that's no problem. Most people are concerned over their pokemon when they first walk in. And since I love pokemon and can't stand letting them suffer in pain they are also my concern so I don't mind! My name is Nurse Joy it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She gave a formal little bow and had the biggest smile on her face.

"My name is Leaf and I just started my journey with my charmander here, and I was wondering if you guys had any kind of breakfasts for trainers who spent the night?"

"We do but its not for free. The prices are also a little high as we use the proceeds from food to help run the pokemon center. Helps us keep the lights on. And before you ask its down the hallway you came from but take a left at the first intersection." She said pointing to the hallway I just came from. I took a breath to ask another question and she stopped me before I could ask.

"Yes you can get it to go if you want to get an early headstart." She beamed at me now, obviously used to new trainers asking her the very same questions every time.

"Thanks Nurse Joy I truly appreciate your help. You have a wonderful day!" I waved goodbye as I walked away, headed for the breakfast buffet.

Grabbing a few hashbrowns and a breakfast burrito, I make my way back to my room. Grumbling to myself about paying $12 for a small burrito and a bag of hashbrowns.

"Charmander I'm back. Have a good breakfast?" I asked as I shut the door behind me. Charmander was lying in the bed. His tail sticking out the side so it wasn't burning anything.

"Char. Char!" He said, excitedly as he sat up and hopped off the bed. Landing with a soft thump he waddled over to me and waited for me to finish shutting the door.

I saw his food bowl was empty and grabbed it, rinsing it out in the bathroom before dhoving into my backpack. Looking at charmander I asked if he was ready to hit the road.

"Charmander!" Waving his tail back and forth and smiling with excitement.

"Settle down now before you light something on fire. Charmander! Return!" I pointed his pokeball at him and he disappeared into a flash of red light. Grabbing my backpack and walking out the door, I began making my way out of the pokemon center. Eager to get on the way, I made my way north, before stopping and remembering I needed to buy some pokeballs from the local Pokemart.

Walking into the store, I quickly spied their selection of pokeballs and grabbed 5. Couldn't hurt to plan for the best. Paying for them I walked out and headed to route two.

In the distance I could see a small checkpoint almost, appearing as a small covered archway. Heading torwards it I was interrupted as a small purple blur jumped in front and began gnashing its oversized teeth at me.

"Ratatta! Ratta ratta tatta!" Biting fiercly as he gnashed his teeth in my direction. Clearly it did not want me to pass any further. I threw out charmander's pokeball and hoped this ratatta wasn't too strong for charmander.

As soon as charmander landed on the ground he charged ratatta, clearly mad that this oversized rat had dared to challenge his master. He smacked the ratatta's head with his tail, preventing it from biting him directly. Charmander then opened his mouth and let loose blazing hot air, with several embers gleaming in the wind. The embers landed on ratatta's fur and smoldered.

"Come on charmander! You can do it. Scratch him up and finish him off!" I cheered as I watched ratatta switch from trying to bite charmander to using his claws and scratching him. Charmander however wasn't allowing ratatta a chance as once again hitting ratatta with his tail and knocking the little rat aside. Pouncing on it charmander began using his hindclaws to gouge deep gashes onto the ratatta's hindquarters. Soon the ratatta went limp and was knocked **** from the fight.

Charmander walked back over to me beaming with happiness as I praised him for his fierce fighting display. Charmander didn't even have a scratch on him from the fight.

I returned charmander to his pokeball after giving him a kiss on his nose, I entered the building.
