Not well for the Boar

The boar was busy with his usual patrol when without warning an Earth Lance came from the tree branches above, making it instinctively try to bolt allowing it to avoid being impaled in the heart even as it carved a bloody path on its left flank. The injured boar started to run into the grassy flat lands wincing in pain when it saw something emerging from the canopy of the trees flying in pursuit, mana glowing in its hand as a new spell was cast.

It instinctively let out a taunting growl to interrupt the spell but it felt the spell being resisted, cold shivers spreading through its injured body as it tried to make itself run faster away from this likely higher level monster, but it was already too late and an earth bullet was shot from above missing its head but taking a large chunk from its neck and left cheek. It took a few more steps before it tripped and rolled on its injured side, its breathing painful and the cold spreading as with every heartbeat it pumped more of its blood out its wounds.

Them Imp circled it for a moment before a final earth bullet to the head took the Boar out of its misery, and Damaskinos once again managed to land without a sound. He looked at the carcass bigger than he was and let out a relieved sigh, his stomach growling like he had never even eaten in his life, which he of course hadn't. After a moment of thinking, he infused his claws with the fire element, wincing in pain as he started trying to cut through the meat and cook it at the same time. The meat and hide easily burned in the magical fire but it took a lot of effort to whisker out the pieces of fatty meat with his claws, and Damaskinos went to work ripping and cooking in his burning hands pieces of boar as he thought about what he knew of the creature.

He studied all the monsters that would spawn in the Xandrian mountain range with Carnachias before his reincarnation, and the Adult Mountain Boar was a phenomenal physical fighter with an AoE sound taunt which made it the bane of any lonely spell caster. Any lonely ground based spell caster which were not immune to taunts, at least. To compensate, as a low level monster, it had near 0 magical resistance.

Finally he after a bit of digging and eating into the Boar he finally managed to eat his way to the clear mana core which resided besides the heart, and after a moment of contemplation it used his regenerated mana to cast a Communion divine spell for the first time.
