Chapter 4 by Stalagg Stalagg

Will you need to be scraped off the bottom of his boot?

Not today!

Fate it seems had other plans for you as you were not to die this day. Just as your Master's mighty boot was about to stamp down on you the entire Tower shook violently and it sent you skidding across the floor and even stumbled The Dark Lord. Red eyes wide for a brief moment before they narrowed evenly as he understood what was happening.

"Heroes."

He hissed the word as one might an ancient enemy or their mother-in-law. You felt understanding regarding Heroes as your knowledge caught up with you. Small bands of 'elite' warriors from the Free Peoples who bypassed The Master's Barrier to strike at the heart of his domain and hopefully to eliminate him. You disliked them instinctively and knew they'd kill you without a second thought. Horrid things they were, interfering with The Master's plan. Why if you had the chance you'd show them a thing or two!

Your Master's eyes then widened again as understanding flowed into him. As he had created this Fortress with his own power he knew it in its entirety, as well as what occurred within its walls.

"They used powerful Magic to hide themselves...The Eye of Calamity! They have stolen it!!"

The Tower rumbled again only this time it was from your Master's ire. Yelping did you hurry to hide behind a statue as he marched with a purpose towards the Vault, Uldar struggling to keep up with him.

The Eye of Calamity was perhaps the most treasured and powerful relic The Dark Lord held within his possession. The 'Eye' was actually a large dark purple jewel, so dark that light didn't reflect off of it. It possessed an evil, terrible power and was rightfully kept locked away. It was one of the few items The Master had brought with him when he came across the Southern Sea over a hundred years ago. This Gem was the reason The Master had been able to create the Barrier that kept the Free Peoples out of his land. If it had fallen into the wrong hands...

The Master soon returned to the room which you hid in still and he approached the Spawning Pool. Holding his hand towards it did the mixture of gore and Dark Magic begin to swirl. Spinning slowly it created the image of a group of Heroes escaping the Vault through an opening created in it's wall but the clarity of the image wasn't enough to see in proper detail. The image began to shimmer then before dissipating entirely, earning a growl from The Dark Lord in response.

"They have escaped with my Gem! Find these thieves and bring back what was stolen!"

The whole of The Master's domain heard his command and would answer his call to arms.

Wait...that's it! You giggled to yourself as you rubbed your hands together from the cleverness of your plan. That was the solution to all of your problems! If you brought back The Eye of Calamity then The Master would see your true worth! He would see that you weren't worthless and you were worthy of being his Right Hand. You would surpass his expectations and no matter the odds you would retrieve that Gem!

Though you couldn't see it the red glow from your eyes were starting to fade away.

Should you inform The Master of your plan?
