Chapter 45

What's her reaction?
Not great (Epilog)
It's the first time I've seen the old Life. Prior Life? I suppose Life works, as I'm a substitute: She's just on a leave of absence… and she looks like an old school fertility idol: Dozens of breasts crowded on her torso, under her arms, and on her back. And she's hugely naked. But hey: I'm getting all the porn right now, live and in person: Anyone or anything doing anything that might, maybe, lead to a baby? I'm there. So this isn't that bad.
For me. Sally shrieks, “WHAT DID YOU DO?!”
I use my mortal-ish body to answer, “Very little. I proposed a solution to the trust issue that your Father… ours, now, vetoed… Sally.”
Life's child frowns at me as she stands, “You just said something that I couldn't hear…” he looks to the side, "Mom reacted, so her Name, maybe? That would mean…” her eyes go very wide as he puts things together.
“You stole my divinity!” Life also can do simple math. She swings her fists at my mortal form.
Which is a beyond useless action. I let her connect, my damage resistance soaking it. “Father assigned me as the custodian of it, more like. He said this is a leave of absence. The implication is that it's not permanent. Also… your daughter… son… whatever… they couldn't hear when I used your Name.”
“So Dad hasn't disowned me…” she takes a slow breath, “I'm not doomed.”
You're currently at the mercy of all your siblings, and I get the distinct impression that you're not exactly popular right now, “Dad always has a plan.”
“And he's always right,” my sister closes her eyes and takes a breath, “Okay. I need to accept my discipline. Much as it hurts. What next?”
You're in for a miserable day. I'm to drop you off naked on the side of a certain road in a specific non-technological world, in the rain. In about a day you'll be cold and hungry, your breasts swelling with milk, and you'll be picked up by a poor couple with a newborn infant, whom they can't feed because the mother has an old injury. They have a spare cloak, will be able to feed you, and can give you a place to sleep on their floor… and that's it. But I'm not supposed to tell you that. I shrug, “Trust Dad…” and cast. Spheres of Power has this one: Universal Teleport and Ranged Warp, plus the requirements. My divine nature cheating is just getting a firm grasp of where I'm sending her.
I also continue taking care of Life's lover. I inherited him as a prophet and I absolutely need to revoke the prior Prophet's access to everything. Giving access to the war machine to a guy that wanted to never lose… well, that contract is void, and I'm having a long conversation with him… I do plan to keep him around until things settle with Life, and him being a prophet who is always exactly where I want handles that nicely. As for Life's child….
“So… if you're around male humanoids, you WILL get pregnant…” I begin, walking over to him, “...and you're contagious, and any children we have will be as well.”
“Are you gonna kill me again?” He cringes, “I did NOT like the lower planes.”
“No, why would you think…” I pause, “Ah, because you just spent a few thousand years there. No, I'm sending you to Aballon. I'll set you up to survive the place comfortably, but there's a reason we,” as in, deities, “wiped out all forms of lycanthropy.” The loss of self for the mortals was a big part of it for a lot of us… and for the rest, it was because the disease eats the same stuff we do. It's a disease of the soul. “We can't have it spreading. A world full of asexual machine intelligences will let you live out your life mostly well without risking a spread… just stay away from the areas frequented by visitors.”
I consider and form a summon for her: A Conjuration Companion, loaded up with all the Spheres talents to handle anything that might come up: A magical powerhouse to blast through problems, shaped as a simple bracelet. And if anything happens to be immune to that? Well, she's a bracelet because she's using the Improved Transformation feat: She turns that off and she's a meat grinder in melee equipped with max level Starfinder gear and buffed to the gills by me: Can't have Life claiming I ruined hers, after all.
And then… another Universal Teleport from Warp and they're gone… and I get to my new duties….
