Not Even Close

Maria tried to focus on her everyday chores throughout the day, but her thoughts kept drifting towards Nikolai. As evening approached, she received a message from Rachel, who sounded distressed and asked her to come over. Maria rushed to Rachel's apartment and found her friend bound and gagged. Before she could even react, Nikolai emerged from the shadows, blocking the exit.

"You broke my trust, Maria," Nikolai said, his voice laced with anger. "I warned you not to speak of our encounter to anyone. And you did what? You went to the police!" he started laughing cruelly. "Don't think those those morons pose any threat to me, after all _they _informed me through my contact of your visit. You see, there is a larger picture out there but you never thought of that, did you?"

Maria's heart raced as she realized what was happening. Nikolai had somehow found out about her report. She tried to reason with him, but his expression was cold and unforgiving.

"I was mistaken about you," Nikolai continued. "You don't really have the darkness in you that I require in a companion. You're just another worthless specimen of cattle..."

Maria watched in horror as Nikolai sank his fangs into Rachel's neck. Rachel writhed in agony as Nikolai drank from her, her muffled screams echoing through the room. Maria tried to open the doors but they were locked. She then tried to free Rachel and struggled against her restraints, **** to help her friend, but she was powerless against Nikolai's strength.

When Nikolai was finished, he turned to Maria with bloodlust in his eyes. "And now, you," he said.

Maria closed her eyes and braced herself for the inevitable. She felt Nikolai's teeth pierce her skin and the pain was excruciating. There was no gentleness this time, no arousing emotions, just pure carnage. She tried to push him away, but he was too strong. As she felt herself growing weaker, a sense of despair washed over her. This was it. This was how she was going to die.

As Maria's life began to slip away, she saw Rachel's body lying nearby, pale and lifeless. She had failed to save her friend, and now she was paying the ultimate price.

The last thing Maria saw was Nikolai's face looming over her, his eyes cold and unfeeling. She knew that she was doomed, and that there was no escaping the fate that had befallen her.
