So you just gonna lay there for who knows how long?
Nope this is far too boring
With Mary laying partly on top of you on the small bed there is no way to get her off you without throwing her onto the ground.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" She shouted at her butt hit the floor.
"I've things to do." You stood up and snapped the chain around your side and the one at your hip. "Most of which are more important than laying here with you."
"Christopher wait!" Mary jumped up and tried to put you in a head lock. One elbow against your throat, legs wrapped around your waist and weight as far from your back as she could lean.
"First on that list is teach Gabrielle how to help me get this back." You lifted your stump up as your left hand pulled the arm around your neck free. You hadn't broken your stride and walked out of the tent while you dropped Mary on her ass for the second time. You stretched your perception behind you to see if she was to try tackling you or going for the leg sweep before you took off.
"Sorry would you be Christopher?" A woman with a leather satchel slung over her shoulder and blue clothes.
"Yes." You answer, Mary let out an grunt as she stood up behind you, getting ready to tackle you. "It won't go well for you." You were indifferent to her attempt but taking off with someone holding you added an additional complexity to the matter you didn't care to work out.
"I have a letter for you." The woman opened the satchel and rummaged around in it. "It's a weird one," she pulled out a thin letter with your mothers seal on it, "has specific details on when I'm supposed," she held it out for you, "to deliver," you took it and set it on fire, "it."
"Is that all?" You asked readying your left arm to throw Mary back into the tent when she tried to tackle you.
"Why'd you do that?" Mary asked from behind you.
"Because I've no interest in indulging a dead woman's hypocrisy." One of her first letters had been about not living life by prophecy, yet she is continuing to intervene in your life and waste your time.
"Just stay here." Mary jumped at you, you sidestepped her, grabbed the back of her head and threw her into her tent. There was a crunch from inside as she shattered her desk. "Fine be that way." You felt her grab the sword from the side of the tent and launch herself at you, tip aimed at your thigh.
You jumped, put your foot on the flat of her blade and slammed it into the ground, elbowing Mary in the face as you did. "Goodbye." You create your wings and took off. The force of your takeoff flattened both women, along with Mary's tent.
You didn't go straight to the palace to get to teaching Gabrielle, instead you went to the church. You'd learned how to aura share from the book and while you did recite it to her already, better to have everything than need more material.
Your landing was met with a few gasps of people on their way out. Dismissing your wings you walked through them, ignoring the various greetings. Inside was Farrah but no sisters, Cynthia here and gave you a little wave. You walked to the alter and picked up the gold book.
"Stud, you missed the sermon, did you need something?" Farrah asked, watching you take the book.
"This." You answered, leaving the church while Farrah called after you. You remade your wings and took off once you were outside, you'd wasted enough time on others.
Landing at the palace's front doors earned a few startled brandished weapons. Quickly put away when they recognised you. One approached, must have standing orders when it came to your presence. You ignored them and walked inside heading for Gabrielle's room.
You made it further than you expected before you felt Lady Demise approach.
"I'm here to see Gabrielle." You called out. There wasn't even a flinch in her step as she emerged from a doorway.
"And I would be happy to escort -"
"Unnecessary." You walked past her.
"Are you alright?" She asked walking behind you. "You feel, different."
"I emotional exhausted myself while restoring the missing limbs of Mary's wounded soldiers."
"Aurora's soldiers." Lady Demise corrected.
"The distinction is meaningless. Mary does whatever her mother tells her, including seducing the man currently fucking her younger sister."
"I'll leave a guard outside, and keep Isabelle away." Lady Demise breaks off from behind you.
You reach Gabrielle's door and walk inside. Waiting for you within in a half naked Gabrielle, hair back its previous incredible level of messiness, panties barely pulled up over her ass, laying on her stomach in bed with three books she is reading, one she is writing in, and her legs kicking behind her. She looked over at you and froze with quill halfway through a word. She started turning red.
"I've got the scriptures that taught me how to absorb and return auras." You walked over and put the book on top of her notes, avoiding the wet ink.
"I-I'll read it right away." She stammered out, looking down at the book, unable to look at you. "Can you um, leave so I can..." She trailed off as her eyes managed to move off her books and up to your waist.
"If it will speed things up." You walked outside the room and find a guard standing in front of you.
The guard nodded at you but you didn't respond, the last time you did you ended up agreeing to restore the missing limbs of several hundred women and draining all the emotions out of yourself.
"C-come in." Gabrielle called through the door. You walked in and found that her wearing a tunic and no pants. She was standing in the middle of the room looking at you expectantly. "Do you want to sit?" She hurried to her bed and patted it.
"We'll start with the principal, once you are ready we'll use the guard outside as the test subject for your first attempt." You explained sitting down.
She sat next to you, tugging at her tunic's hem to stop it from rising up to much but it was a tunic so most of her thighs were exposed. "From this book?" She asked picking up the holy book. "Is this gold?" She asked examining the cover.
"The guide is on the first page." You hurried her up.
She opened the book and read, then grabbed her notebook, flipped to the sections she'd written when you recounted the passage to her and made some little notes around it. "You missed some of the intonation the text expects." She mumbled while she worked.
You waited until she was finished then got to teaching. While you did she kept shifting in her seat, her tunic slowly riding up more and more until it became clear that she'd removed her underwear. She started to lean against you while flipping through the book, seeing if there was any more information she could glean from it.
"Are you ready to try it out yet?" You asked as she rested her cheek on your shoulder.
"O-oh, a-are you sure there isn't anything else?" She lifted her head and stared deeply into your eyes. "Anything you want to do?" She shifted again and pulled her tunic fully over her butt. She was remarkable pale, even compared to Asune.
"No." You stood and opened the door while she fell onto the bed. "Come in." You told the guard.
The guard hesitated for a moment then walked inside. "Do you need something my Lord?" She asked nervously.
"Gabrielle is going to try and absorb then return your aura. I need you to relax and open up your aura so she can." You explain moving to the side while Gabrielle scrambled up from her bed pulling her tunic down to try and cover herself. "Gabrielle." You said motioning for her to hurry up.
Gabrielle looked from you to the guard with a horrified expression. "Christopher, I-I," She side stepped over to you and whispered, "I'm naked."
"You're wearing a tunic." You pointed out, worried this was going take longer than you hoped. "Now hurry up."
Gabrielle opened her mouth then closed it and looked at the guard. "I'll wait outside my Lady." The guard said, scurrying out of the room.
"Christopher, are you ok?" Gabrielle asked.
"Yes." You answered, going to open the door and retrieve the guard.
"Then why haven't you tired to, sleep with me." She whispered the last part.
"I've had my emotion drained out of me as a result of returning over a hundred auras." You explain opening the door to have the guard return.
"Tell me everything." Gabrielle said grabbing her notebook and making a brand new section of notes. "The more I understand about it the matter to easier it will be for me to restore your hand."
Perfectly agreeable. You closed the door on a rather worried looking guard and answered every question that Gabrielle could throw at you. At the end she'd filled several pages with notes, theories and observations about the likelihood of those theories. At the end you yawned from all the talking.
"Do you need to rest?" She asked, looking up from her notebook. The two of you had returned to sitting on the bed and she moved some of her books back into her trunk.
"I'll come back to let you know if sleeping recovers my emotions. Until then, try absorbing some auras. If you can't by the end of the week, we'll go to the church."
"Should you return this?" She asked holding up the golden book. She'd gone over most of it and it was clear there wasn't any more information that would help her.
"I'll drop it off on the way." You grab the book and leave the room. "She'll need test subjects." The guard's eyes grew very wide as you left her there.
You extended your perception to see if Lady Demise was going to try surprising you again. You made it to the palace foyer when she made the attempt.
"What do you want?" You asked, spinning on your heel to see her opening a door.
"Simply to ask how long you will be like this?" Lady Demise bowed submissively.
"Unknown. I'd keep Isabelle away from me for the foreseeable future."
"Naturally." Lady Demise studied you for a moment.
"Any attempt to take advantage of me in this state will not meeting a forgiving response." It's worth the attempt to cut off that waste of time now.
"I'll keep that in mind." Lady Demise bowed again as you left the palace. Sprouting your wings you flew to the church finding a few people waiting around, all of whom rushed over to talk to you, thankfully there were very easy to just walk through. Farrah met you at the door and took the book back. You ignored her questions and returned to the street, a single warning was enough for everyone to move away from you. You flew to your room and entered through your window.
You thought about getting dinner but didn't feel hungry. So you stripped and got into bed.
Does sleep happen? And does it work?
