Nope, down to breakfast

Hermione woke up before breakfast on Good Friday to an overcast sky. She went upstairs to put the robe she had finished the alterations on. She thought she looked alright in it, but knew the Slytherins might say something. Still, she had followed the letter of their law.

On her way out of the bedroom door, she decided to try wandless magic again. With a wave of her finger, she tried to close the door. It moved slightly, gliding gently towards the closed position, but not that much. She still needed far more practice.

The Slytherins' comments at breakfast chided her about the state of her robes, asking her if she really thought she looked better with them than without them, but Hermione ignored them.

"Oh right," Pansy started. "Millie managed to get a house-elf to volunteer to sleep with you, tonight!" The Slytherins giggled.

"So, is that good enough for you, mudbloud? You gonna show up for this?" Millicent jeered.

Hermione blushed. "Of course, Bulstrode. Just tell me where and when and I'll do this stupid task."

The Slytherins snickered again. "You'll meet us in the entrance hall again, after dinner," Millicent answered. "We've been setting up a bed for the two lovebirds!"

Daphne began to howl with laughter as she leaned on Pansy for support. After they finished breakfast, Hermione began to head upstairs to practice wandless magic more, but then Dumbledore's portrait spoke behind her.

"You know..." Dumbledore stated. "There have been rumors about Professor Flitwick being part elf."

Hermione turned around. "Yes, Professor. I've heard the rumor, but never asked... I didn't think it proper."

"Which was a very polite thing to do, Hermione," Dumbledore nodded. "I beg your forgiveness, but there is a portrait of me in the great hall, and I believe I should tell you that there are, indeed, half-elves in the world."

Hermione's eyes widened. "So... You're saying that I could end up..."

Dumbledore gave a solmen nod. "It might be wise to put your wandless practice to the side for now, Hermione. I advise you to go to the library and find the book Moste Potente Potions. Inside is a recipe for a potion that can be ready in just a few hours, and it will render you barren for 24 hours. If memory serves, you should be able to find all the ingredients in the student store cupboard in the dungeons. If there is anything missing, I'm certain that Professor Slughorn would forgive you if you were to borrow some ingredients from his personal cupboards, as long as you left their value in gold behind."

Hermione nodded to show she understood. "Thank you for the advice, Professor."

"Very good. Now... Off you go."
