To her surprise, Fenri stopped there. Both dog and woman stayed like this for a while and Nina could feel herself calm down. The aura of the wolf had something that drew her towards him. Her body stopped trembling and the fear slowly left her body.

With every moment that passed she felt closer to Fenri. Her body submitted to the stronger dog and came to resting in front of him. She looked deep into his eyes and he stared back at her. This dog was something different. She could feel him penetrate her mind and her soul.

"Do not fear me young one, you will understand soon" a voice echoed inside her head and she had the sense that it was Fenri. But this was impossible. He could not talk. 'HE IS A DOG' she screamed inside her had. She watched him closely.

"Trust me young one, I am far from that." The voice said, much lower and calmer. "You have to understand, I am not to harm you. I am a protector." His snout didn't move, Nina was sure.

'Can...can you read my mind?' "Yes, young one. I can. As long as you want me to. All that you decide to remain secret will stay that way" Fenri replied. "Please let me explain, young one. Once you heard me out, you will understand"

Nina nodded. Her body was at ease and almost as calm as if she was sleeping.

"My name is Fenrisúlfr, son of Loki. I made your boyfriend call me by this name and convinced him, that it was his choice." He paused. "Yes, young one. We do exist." Nina's mind was racing. Not only was Fenri not a normal dog, but he was son to a god, which technically made him a god as well.

"I have to apologise, young one. I wanted to make contact sooner, I wanted to explain beforehand, but it is not as easy as you might think. I have witnessed great pain throughout my existence and I have felt my kind suffer for long now, so I decided to wipe out the human race for good. The planet will be ruled by animals once again."

Nina came back to life. The fear and the adrenaline kicked right back in, but before she could make a move, Fenri pinned her down with a second paw. "I am not going to kill you, young one. Nor do I plan to kill any other human being." He sighed. "Your government calls it the canine virus, I think? It was designed to change you, make you more understanding and appreciative of the nature around you. There are however certain individuals that stand out. My mission was to adress all of you in time and to help my with my quest. Unfortunately, I did not."

'Don't be, Fenri. I think you were trying to do the right thing' She calmed him down and carefully listening to his thoughts, she felt at peace. She reached out to him and put both hands on the side of his head. 'What is your plan for me, Fenri?'
