Chapter 6 by TheMouse TheMouse

Do you take her in?

No

(Hello, you beautiful people hope you all doing well. I decided to branch off to do the Raven story for a bit. The Zelda and Tatsumaki stories are now published on my other account. While I plan to keep writing, it takes a lot longer than I thought, but I will keep pumping out chapters and new stories. Thanks for reading. And have a Merry Christmas ;)

You made sure Jinx got to the hospital safely, and you instructed the Cops that she did nothing wrong this time but to still keep an eye on her. By the time you got to the medical room back in the tower, your head felt light and fuzzy, most likely from the blood loss.

Laying Raven down on the table, you give her a look over, there were no visible wounds on her body, but still, she was unresponsive. The pain in your side throbbed, and you had to deal with it before you bled out.

As you treat your wound, you conclude that it was no coincidence that this attack happened when four of the prominent five members were away. But you had no idea what group or organisation those things belonged too, and the way they fought like assassins. You had to use your killer side just to make it out of that fight alive, and you hated that.

Once the wound was cleaned, you started to stitch your body back together. It would most likely leave a scar, 'oh well,' you thought to yourself it was one more to add to your collection. Once the large wound was cleaned and patched up, you moved over to Raven while dealing with the more minor cuts to your back from the glass.

You can't help but admire her, her pale face looked peaceful, and the ordinarily cold Raven had a smile on her lips. It was only now that you realised just how good she looked. You stopped before you felt like a creep. After all, she was your team member and friend, and why would she be interested in you anyway. You rechecked her pules. It was solid and consistent. You weren't a wizard, you had no idea what those bastards had done to her, and you couldn't exactly use a spell to wake her up. Instead, you waited by her side and decided to move her into her own room where she would be comfortable.

You hated this, people getting hurt because you weren't strong enough to protect them. First, it was Raven, but then it could be Robin. You were starting to regret ever joining the Titans.

After the fourth hour, you were getting worried. Maybe she had something that could help you understand what to do. You started to look around her room which was littered with books and melted candles. You did see the occasional piece of clothing, but you ignored it. Still, then you found something interesting, a diary on her desk. You looked over at the still **** Raven and decided to see if the journal held any answers.

You quickly skimmed through the pages, mostly it was about how Beast boy annoyed her. It's then you realised that this was how she vents her emotions, you should stop here, but something caught your eye.

Your name.

'Rider seems strange. He's always looking over his shoulder. I don't trust him.'

Of course, you were always looking over your shoulder. You didn't know these people, only Robin, so you kept your guard up.

At first, it was little sentences listing the things that she found odd about you. the way you were always in the training room, h but soon there were more and more pages about you. '

'He's always distant, but today he saved me and got badly hurt because of it. Why would he do that? He doesn't know me, and I've been nothing but- why did he do that?'

That was the day you jumped in front of an energy attack. What were you supposed to do? Let her get hurt?

'It hasn't even been two days, and already I found Rider in the training room. He was still wrapped in bandages. He was training with weights. He was stupid for putting his body through that much stress. I watched him for a while, and I noticed how muscular he was for the first time. Under that cloak, it was hard to get a good look at his body. I had to leave quickly because watching him move made me feel weird.'

She was watching you?

'Starfire told me she was interested in Rider, apparently, after Robin pulled that Red X stunt, Star couldn't trust him anymore. The way she described Rider made me feel jealous that she also was interested in him. I don't understand these feelings. When she described him as a kind-hearted but fierce warrior, I couldn't help but agree with her. He acts distant, but he always puts himself in harm's way to protect others.'

Wow, you had no idea you were so popular, and what's this about Red X?

'It's been over two weeks now, and I've never felt like this before. I can barely look Rider in the eyes, and when he smiles at me, something blows up from my powers. Why does he have to be this kind and good looking? Why couldn't he just be like Beast boy, rude and annoying? But even when I avoid him at the base, when we fight, my mind always goes back to when he jumped in front of me to save me.'

You look back at Raven, who was still sound asleep in her bed, you turn back to her diary, but you wonder if you should stop now before you read something that you would rather not. But you couldn't you wanted to know more about what she thought of you, it was the first time in your life where someone actually seemed to be interested in you.

'Starfire mentioned that her planet was hosting a festival, it took some convincing, but she agreed to take Robin with her for the trip. If it goes well, they should patch things up, and she will leave Rider alone.'

'It's time, Beast Boy and Cyborg are leaving for the week for a gaming convention, and Star and Robin leave later today. I need to learn more about him. Where did he come from? Who is he? With luck ill soon get rid of these feelings and can get back to being normal.'

There was more written, but you noticed Raven was moving in her bed. You quickly close the diary and move over to the side of the bed. She struggled to open her eyes, but when she did, you greeted her with a smile, "Hey", you said softly. "Hey", she responded tiredly before her eyes fire opened in surprise. Her face was red, and you were worried she had a fever. You placed your head on hers. She feels like she has a fever. Her body went stiff as soon as your heads touched her face, only reddened as you moved away.

"You're in my room," she said, sounding as quiet as a mouse.

"I was making sure you were okay. What's the last thing you remember?" you ask, sitting beside her on the bed and looking into her purple eyes. Raven composed herself, "we were at the bank, and then something hit me." Raven's eyes went wide, "Rider, are you alright?" she asks, sounding almost worried.

"Hey, I'm fine," you say with a laugh, "you're the one I'm worried about." Raven looks away from you, "So what happened afterwards?" she asks, looking back at you, her face back to its usual pale white.

You give Raven the rundown on what happened after she was out of action. You told her that you managed to get Jinx to a hospital, and you left out that fact you got stabbed. Once you were done talking, you made Raven lay back down in bed while you went to prepare something for her to eat.

It was an old recipe that your mother taught you as a child. Guess those memories were good for something after all. You shook those thoughts from your mind and focused on dishing up the food. You grab a bowl, some bread a tray and carry it all along with the soup to Raven's room.

"Raven?" you call out from outside her room before gently kicking the door since your hands are full. "One moment", you heard Raven say, followed by the shuffling of fabric, "It's open". You open her door and walk towards the bed. You already notice she's changed out of her cloak and is now wearing pyjamas. You also see her diary is missing.

"How are you feeling?" you ask the wounded bird, placing the tray on the floor as you sit beside her on the bed. "Honestly, I'm fine, just feel a bit weak." Not satisfied with her answer, you place a hand on her head again. She still felt warm, "Well, nothing some soup can't fix." You said with a smile, pouring some in a bowl and handing it to her.

"What's in it?"

"Just some meat and veg," you say while poring your own bowl. "Thought it might be a nice change from pizza. I know you like meat, so I made sure to add extra." Raven lifted the spoon to her lips. You watched as her blank expression changed to one of surprise. Her bowl was quickly emptied before you even got a chance to eat.

"Is there any more?" Raven asks.

After her third bowl, Raven laid back on her bed, her face wearing a small smile. She seemed to have fallen back to sleep with a full belly. You turn your attention back to yourself and your wound. It was already starting to heal. The stitches have fallen out where new skin had formed.

"I thought you were fine?" Raven suddenly asks, causing you to quickly pull your shirt down and look at her. "I am. It was just a small cut." You say with a smile, but Raven wasn't smiling. "Don't lie to me." She says in a freighting calm tone. "I'm not. You were the one hit with that beam. I just got cut a bit. You take priority."

"Rider small or not if you're hurt, you can't ignore it, show me."

"I'm fine, Raven, now you need to get some-"You were cut off. Raven's black aura was now surrounding her, "Show, Me." She was no longer asking, and now fearing for your life, you let out a sigh and lifted your shirt.

Showing her the bandages, luckily, all the cuts to your back had already disappeared. "What was it like earlier?" she asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Rider, I'm not an idiot. I know you heal fast, Robin told me. So now you tell me how the back was it?"

Knowing she wasn't going to let this go and was too tired to argue, "I was stabbed, but it missed my organs."

"How can you say that so casually?" Raven asked, "Because it's not big a deal, look I've had worse injuries than a small stab. I was worried about you."

Raven's mouth quickly shuts when you say that, "you still need to take better care of yourself", she said. "Ya well, I'm used to these things."

"Used to what?" she asks.

"Fighting, getting hurt, why do you think I know how to treat wounds?"

"What did you do before coming here?"

You let out a sigh, "Now isn't the time for that story", you said with a smile before picking up the bowls, "I'll come back later to check on you if your need anything-" "Hang on", Raven said before you could leave.

"You're not going to train, are you?"

"Ya, why?" this proved to be a mistake on your part.

"No, you're not. You're going to stay here where I can keep an eye on you."

"You can't be serious?" But her frown was all the answer you needed. "Fine, I suppose I could use some rest after watching you for six hours." You turn around and shut the door.

What's next?
