Chapter 17

What do you do?
No time for prisoners
This wasn’t the time to be wasting on a potential ‘meal’ when there was already ‘food’ at home. A quick slash of the two put them on the ground for good and I turned back to the cliff. Reaching the edge, I came face to face with Delia who had clambered up the side. Well, a quick stinger to the face solved that as I looked further into the camp.
Aerlan was standing in front of the human woman who was now glowing as she continued to pray. However, I could feel the tingle of what I instinctively knew was arcane magic, not anything divine. Curious.
As I crawled down the cliff, Aerlan chuckled darkly, “This is so fucked. You better finish that fucking chant, else we’re all going to die” and marched forward.
However, it was as anti-climactic as the rest because as skilled as he was, I was like smoke, impossible to hit. And with claws, fangs, and a stinger, it was only a matter of time before I slipped under his guard and carved him to pieces.
Looking up as the human woman shouted, “By the dawn’s early light!” and the glow brightened. With a snort, I cast Counterspell and the glow shattered.
“Wha? Th-that’s impossible”
“Is it? Seems not.”
“But that’s holy magic, you can’t stop it!”
“Ah, is that so? Well, it appears your goddess has abandoned you then.”
She sank to her knees, “No, you’re lying, she wouldn’t abandon me, she wouldn’t!”
“Oh well, better luck in your next life then,” as you speared her with your stinger.
Turning towards my three humans, I approached and released them from their bonds. They immediately started to babble thanks over and over. I was confused until they told me what had been explained to them on the ride over.
Seems this group weren’t actually dragon hunters, which made sense to me with how flimsy and abundant their armor was. Instead these were the run-of-the-mill slavers who were posing as dragon slayers to avoid suspicion. After all, if people thought you were there to put an end to a great threat, they don’t scrutinize your actions too much.
Finding the fact that this was the second group of people who had the bad luck to find an actual dragon, I set about gathering the bodies and munching down. The three didn’t seem too squeamish, but did choose to sit well away from me as they ate some of the animals that had been roasting.
After I finished, I glanced down at your bloody body and announced that I was going to clean off in the nearby river. Heading down there, I soon submerged myself up to my shoulders and let the current wash away the blood. The coolness was soothing as I closed my eyes, relaxing.
However, this soon ended as I heard some rustling of branches and twigs snapping. Opening my eyes, I saw a figure reaching the banks of the river.
Alright, since there’s not a proper ‘Game’ system, this is going to rely on you just choosing the proper choices.
Who did I see and who visited me in the barn?
