No regrets

In the morning, Mike wakes to the smell of something delicious. Throwing on some clothes, he heads out of his room, finding Alicia cooking what appears to be bacon and eggs. She smiles as he approaches. “Good morning, Mike. I figured you would be hungry, so I got up a little early.”

Mike nods. “Well, I am now! How are you this morning?”

Alicia shrugs. “I should be asking you that. Mike, about last night…”

Mike interrupts her. “Look, I get that you don’t want to take advantage of my situation, but honestly, it’s fine. Yes, this is weird, I’m suddenly transported across the galaxy. Yes, I’m thankful for your help, even if I’m still getting used to what’s happening. But…Alicia, you’re very pretty, and your advances are not unwelcome. Assuming you’re not planning to eat me, or harvest my organs or something.”

Alicia gasps, then laughs. “No! I just…look, I’ll admit, I have a bit of a fascination with humans. I’ve studied your kind from afar, and now…now you’re in my kitchen! And…and you’re cute!”

She sets aside the food. “I just want to be sure you’re ok with things happening…I’m not going to be the only one who comes on to you.”

Mike chuckles. “Well, I’m not going to complain about popularity. I like you already though, Alicia.”

She smiles, stepping closer. “I’m glad to hear it. So…you think I’m pretty?”

Mike nods, approaching her as well. “Very pretty. I wish we had continued with what we were doing last night…”

Alicia bites her lip, nodding. “Me too…”

Mike wraps his arms around Alicia, pulling her close. The feeling of her petite body against his is wonderful, and her scent is intoxicating. She tilts her head up for a kiss.

Just as their lips meet, there’s a knock at the door. Both of them jump in surprise, and Alicia steps back, frustration plain on her face. “Ugh! Of course!”

In a huff, she walks past him, headed to the door.
