Comfortably sat at his table of solitude, which he just noticed was in the corner of the courtyard where no one could see or would bother looking, he decided to test his skills and hopefully level them up. He cast Fire Summon. He felt a warm tingling in the tips of his fingers and saw thin tendrils of his orange aura reaching out. The tendrils of aura began to spiral on the center of the table and rise. Good thing it was an iron table and not a wooden one, thought John as he felt the heat of his mana becoming flames. The mini fire tornado vanished in an instant and in its place, was a tiny fox. It cocked its head at john and let out a mewling bark. Pleased with his first summon, John cast observe on it.

His last class of the day, another easy A. Ignis was safely secured in John’s temple, and Mr. Stone was handing out new text books. John didn’t listen to the teacher’s incessant droning, but rather marveled at the info box that appeared above his text book.

John managed not to grin at the newest development of his powers. Fuckin’ sweet. More skills to grind. Level ten is inching closer and closer.

John meditated the remainder of class, and his mind was filled with images of him and his summon leveling up together to become an undefeatable duo. Ignis a larger puppy, wrestling down a leafy serpent. John casting flames at another Dryad as a much larger Ignis roars flames at a large green panther that looked like it was skinless, and its muscles were made of vines.

The final bell woke him to a surprisingly info box-less reality. I guess half an hour isn’t enough for a new skill.
