No Time to Rest! Let’s Catch Ourselves a Pokémon! (Poliwag)

Doing your best to ignore the soreness in your body, you sit up and look at the river. You glance over at your sleeping Bulbasaur, and then back to the river. “You know, we are right by the river, and a water Pokémon would come in handy… Bulbasaur” your Pokémon opens one eye and looks at you lazily “how about we look in the river for a water Pokémon?” Without moving from her spot, your Bulbasaur extends a vine and places it into the river and leaves it there. “Lazy bum, but I suppose that might work.”

You don’t sit around and waste time waiting for Bulbasaur to get lucky and catch something. Instead, you wade into the cold water and start looking around yourself. As you look along the side of the river you manage to find a small blue Pokémon resting in a bush near the river’s edge.

“You are just what I need.” Trying not to spoke the Water Pokémon, you slowly reach for your Pokeballs and grab an empty one. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to hurt you.” You gently throw the Pokeball at the Poliwag. When the ball hits the Pokémon you waste no time and turn towards your Bulbasaur and shout “WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUM AND GET OVER HERE!” Not waiting to see if the Bulbasaur obeys your command you release your Nidoran just in before the Poliwag breaks out of the ball. You point at the blue Pokémon and shout “Don’t let it get away!”

Unlike your Bulbasaur your Nidoran is quick to charge at and attack the wild Pokémon with vicious gusto. You don’t even have to give it further commands to attack as your Nidoran latches onto its opponent, rolling around in the mud as the two Pokemon fight each other. You are surprised at how quickly your Nidoran subdues the Poliwag

In fact, you notice that Nidoran isn’t stopping even after the fight is obviously over. “Nidoran, that’s enough!" Your Nidoran ignores you as it continues to bite the Poliwag. You point its Pokeball it it and shout "Return!” as you call back the Nidoran into its Pokeball. Not wasting any time you throw another Pokeball at the Poliwag, this time the Pokeball barely shacks before locking shut. You hope the Poliwag is ok. You aren’t near a Pokémon Center, but you do have some first aid supplies back at the camp…

“I suppose I should get going back. Bulbasaur!” You look towards the green Pokemon and find that it is all ready next to you. Seems it did follow your commands, you were just too distracted by Nidoran’s viciousness to notice. “Lets go.” With Bulbasaur besides you and a new Water Pokémon in your possession, you make your way back towards the camp.
