You’re not exactly sure why, but you don’t trust her. “I think I’ve wasted enough time. I should be going. Thanks for the tips.” You finish your ale and head out the door. The door leads out into a rather large mix of medieval and magically modern city. You can’t help but stare in wonder at the glowing magic lights, the hovering bike like things people are riding, plus the huge horses, gryphons, mad scientist inspired rockets, clattering and clanking auto carts. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry.

A beautiful Drow elf stops her normal looking bicycle and hops off, it vanishes. She smiles as she sees the familiar look of wonder in your eyes. “First time walking out of the inn?”

“Ya.”

She reaches out and closes your mouth for you. “Don’t make it so obvious, noob. You are safe in the city, it is a no p.v.p. Area, but if you are too obviously new, some jerk will follow you out of town and steal your stuff.”

“Oh, okay, thanks.”

“My advice. Do all the noob quests in town till you hit level 10, then see if you can make a few friends, or head out on a quest that takes you around the world and see it all. It’s pretty cool.”

“Oh, so is it like Warcraft levels?”

She laughs. “Not exactly. Sorta tabletop meets pc gaming. Most people figure out how to not die all the time like a pc game does, but **** is not as harsh as a tabletop game. Unless you’re hard core, some people will start a new character after every ****, but they are crazy, or use that as an excuse to hang out here in noob city.” She waves. “Now I gotta go get my brother. See ya around.”

“How do I find you?” You ask as she heads into the inn.

“Luck. Against the rules to do more than talk in person with anyone under level 10. We can’t actually even touch till then. Say guild hall or wherever you want to go and you will get directions.” With that, she vanishes into the inn.
