Carla stood up to go to the bathroom when she felt dizzy and had to hold the wall to keep herself steady and not fall back down.

"Whoa, looks like the wine has gone straight to my head," Carla said with a giggle, sitting back down.

"Ah, sweetie, don't worry, you can stay over here. The spare room is all made up for you," Liz said while lightly stroking her hair.

"Yeah, I think I got a bit carried away. I can't drive like this," Carla agreed, smiling up at her mother.

"Well, let's get another bottle of wine out then and make it a party," Roy said, smiling as he stood up and headed to the kitchen, before returning with another bottle.

"No more for me, I've had enough for tonight," Liz said, slowly getting up from the sofa that the three of them were sitting on. She kissed Carla goodnight.

"Don't be up too late," she said to Roy with a smile as she left, which he returned with a wink.

"Looks like it's just you and me, gorgeous," Roy said, filling up Carla's glass, handing it to her, sitting down very close next to her.

"Mom never was much of a drinker," Carla giggled.

"Not like you, getting drunk two nights in a row," patting her on the thigh and leaving it resting there, his other arm sliding around her shoulder.

"Hey, I'm not always like this, it's very rare for me. I hardly ever get out these days," Carla said sadly.

"I don't know what's wrong with that husband of yours, not taking you out and showing you off, giving you a good time. I don't understand the man at all," Roy said.

"He's always very busy with work or on his computer, and we didn't have many friends while we lived out there, so we didn't have many opportunities to go out," Carla said, staring into her glass.

"Well, I don't get it, I wouldn't be able to keep myself off you if I were him," Roy said, with a laugh, grabbing a handful of Carla's thigh with a rough grip, then rubbing her above the knee.

"Yeah, I can believe that," Carla giggled. "You haven't been able to keep your hands off me all night," she added, gesturing to where Roy currently had his hand. Her face was flushing both from his touch and the wine.

"See, I can't help it. I'm a man, and you're just too sexy," he replied with a wide grin.

"Yeah, my mom has told me all about what you’re like," Carla said. "I believe her words were. The man's a sex beast, I can see what she means now," Carla joked.

"You make that sound like a bad thing," Roy said, with a shrug. "And I know that your mother definitely doesn't complain about it," he added smugly.

"Hey, I wouldn't be complaining either if I had a man like that," Carla said, taking a big gulp of wine. "God knows how long it's been since Steve showed me any affection," she muttered quietly to herself, taking another gulp of wine.

"Maybe then I wouldn't have done what I did earlier today," she added loud enough for Roy to hear.

"Ohhhh, what have you been up to then?" Roy asked excitedly as he tightened his grip around her shoulder, pulling her close to him. "Has little Miss good girl Carla been naughty?" he said, laughing as he teased her, giving her thigh a hard slap.

"Uh, I shouldn't have said anything. I've drunk too much,” Carla said, rubbing her stinging thigh.

"Come on, you can't just say that and leave me hanging now, you've got to tell me what happened," he encouraged her, his bright eyes shining with excitement.
