Chapter 6 by Orlog4 Orlog4

Well, is it yours? Are your to obey a new master?

No, it is not yours. This guy is fucked

You don’t have a heart in a biological way, but you are still able to feel anger, fear or excitement. Or rather, your soul in the golem-core can remember these feelings. If you would have a biologic heart, it would now beat faster. A control rod is an instrument of absolute power. No matter how much you would fight against it, you wouldn’t be able to resist a given order by whoever holds the rod in his or her hands. But only as long as the rod is linked to your core.

When the leader of the artefact hunters ordered you to kneel in front of him, you halfway feared that once again your body would act against you will. But it doesn’t. Boundless relive floods your soul. This fucked up human has the rod of another poor cult-****. He can’t order you anything. And since you don’t follow his orders, the leader slowly seems to realize this too.

“I … I said you shall kneel,” the leader says with a trembling voice and swings the rod like some kind of magic wand, “what the fuck … why are you not working?”

Before the leader can react, you grab him by the head and hold him tight. He screams in fear and pain, but you have no mercy with him. He had enough chances.

“It works, but it is not mine,” you tell him angry, “you are not my master.”

And with a quick twist of your wrist, you break his neck like a twig. The leader of the artefact hunters tries a last pathetic scream but his body quickly slackens in your grip. You just toss the dead body away. You don’t care for what will happen to it. You have seen so many dead soldiers on several battlefields who all ended as food for stray carnivore creatures or became mindless ghouls.

A couple more idiots who tried to attack you with regular (non-magical) weapons are quickly and lethally neutralized by blows from your steel fists to their skulls.

Nobody is attacking you anymore. Your enemies are either dead, **** or fled. The battle, if you really could call it that way, is over and you can focus on your surroundings. You had no time before to take a closer look around. At first you are confused but then outright shocked by where you currently are.

The home of your former master was close to the atrium of the great temple of the cult’s messiah. The temple was the center of the entire city. A city with more than 100.000 cultists of mostly high ranks and at least 300.000 servants and slaves The capital of the cult. The temple itself once stretched high into the sky and the streets were full of all kind of people. But now it is almost completely gone.

Where once houses had been, you van not see just plain hills and a few small forests. The once high defense walls, armories, administration buildings and ritual places are nowhere to be seen. All that is left are some lone, half smashed remains of towers and walls of collapsed buildings that are all partly sunken into the earth. You need a moment to progress this. It seems much more time has passed than you originally thought. You need some answers.

Where do you think you can get them?
