Lucky for both you and your mother, no ones in town, especially your father, have ever discovered how your mother ended up pregnant with a pair of twins.

And once they finished, they occupied the city and use it as a base of operation to launch smaller raiding parties against the nearby villages!
Lucky for you and the city's inhabitants for making it to the fort in time before they arrived. However, the same cannot be said for those who did not make it to the nearest forts in time.
For a month, you and the inhabitants of Ancyra stayed in that fort, waiting for the occupational army down below to leave Ancyra and return to their territories across the Taurus Mountains. And after staying there for a month, the raiders finally left.
Once the last of the raiders left the sights of the inhabitants of Ancyra, you and the others leave the fort with all of your belongings to return to the city. But once you and the others entered the city, Ancyra is discovered to be left in the bad shape.
Sure, it can be rebuild. However, considering how big your family is, your father decided to request for the relocation to Constantinople. And from what you heard from your father, the Strategos understood why he made such a request. After all, Ancyra can no longer supported the population at its original size. So in the end, some peoples needed to go and live elsewhere in the Empire.
