Do you see anything interesting while flying?
No, but an archer sees you...
As you glide in the wind, your mind drifts and you don´t notice the arrow until its already pierced your left wing. It's not enough to drop you nor is it painful, but its alarming that someone down there can shoot that well. You stop and wait. If someone wants to kill you with a bow, they´ll shoot again soon.
Sure enough, another arrow whistles through the air. This time right past your chest, piercing your left wing again. You trace the arrow back to a small clearing a short distance away.
You could stay up here and try to trace the arrows back to whoever´s firing them and take them out with your magic, or you could swoop down and track down the archer on the ground.
