Nirvana

You are floating in nothingness. A vast empty sea of psychedelic colors swirl around you in all directions. If there was such a thing as Nirvana, this place? Would be it. The only thing that breaks up the hippie fest is the young, nubile, naked form of Aurora.

"What...?" Is the only thing that can come out of your mouth, as you are unable to even begin comprehending this place. You continue to float in the endless abyss for a while longer.

"Don't be scared. You're dead. We both are. This is the place between life and ****. It is all things, and it is nothing. Normally a phoenix like myself is here, alone, while I await rebirth and it is only her husband who gets to share in this eternity of **** and rebirth." Aurora says.

You look on, incredulous as you ask, "Wait, your husband?"

"Yes. This is my one thousand, two hundred and twenty first time here. But my first with a mate. I'm glad it's you. Right now, our bodies in the real world are a commingled pile of ash. You are me, and I am you. Our energies are one. Soon, my flames will ignite once more and we will be reborn together as we rise from the ashes. Our fates are forever intertwined, my dear, for the rest of eternity." Aurora replies.

You have so many questions, and your mind is already overloaded as you can't comprehend the absurdity of this place, wherever or whenever it is. You just don't know what to say and the stress and confusion is plain to Aurora.

You feel her wrap you in a comforting embrace. "It's said first time here is always the hardest for new husbands. Stay with me. Breathe."

You do so and feel oddly comforted by Aurora. You decide to spend the rest of the time there until the swirling mass of colors breaks open with a crack of light.

"Ah, there we are." Aurora says as she propels the two of you towards the blindingly bright light. You shut your eyes as you pass through the barrier, the world finally going darker as you leave this place, whatever it is.
