Nice time for a training Montage...

Reader took the proffered hall pass and surreptitiously left school, eventually making his way to the park. There he spent a bit of time contemplating his options. He remembered the note that meditation would help him discover new magical abilities. _Some form of magical attack would be useful _he thought as he watched the wind move through the branches of the trees. He imagined some version of magic missile, something he could cast discretely to hopefully make Will’s day worse.

His eyes narrowed. Or Lexa. Something dark and primal twitched in his gut at the thought of causing her pain. Something more painful than damaging, he imagined a spell that would land a hard slap to her whore pussy, imagined her doubling over in pain, that flawless face trying to maintain composure…

And with that darkly enjoyable thought front of mind he sat down and began to meditate, trying to feel what the mana in and around him would need to do in order to cause that…

Some time later, the ding of a notification brought Reader out of his meditation. He opened his eyes to see a notification:

New Skill: Wind Whip LvL 1
2 mana cost: Deal 1-2 damage to target within 20 feet. Mostly useful as a distraction at this level.

Reader nodded to himself, determined to make the most of the new skill. He cast it a few times on the nearest tree, becoming frustrated as the message

Target’s toughness reduced damage to 0

Kept appearing. Curious what it would take to do serious damage, he hit it with his closed fist, nearly doubling over in pain despite instinctively pulling the punch. Rather than damaging his fist the impact only brought his HP down, but it still felt like he'd broken his hand on the rough bark. He quickly cast Heal, and the pain disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.

I bet if I got used to hitting at full ****, it would do more damage than most people can he thought before striking the tree again, this time holding nothing back. He quickly healed his throbbing hand, and the tree as well since he saw he'd managed to take a small chip off it's large health bar. Deciding to get creative with the use of his Gamer's Detachment perk he began trying spearhands as well, eventually getting yet another notification:

New Skill: Unarmed Strike Lvl 1
Your natural weapons actually follow the weapons rules, you are never unarmed and you do a bit more damage than an untrained person of the same strength would.

Sweet Reader thought as he began alternating striking and healing the tree, sitting at the base of it to meditate when he got low on mana. After getting a few achievements indicating stat increases he had a look at his character sheet, rather liking the progress he saw.
