Next for Anna: Medical Records, with Margarita

Margarita sighs. "I guess being stuck in the basement is better than getting sent home," she says.

Margarita gives you little soliloquies in the elevator about how she's unhappy about the job and about missing her girlfriend. After several days in Medical Records, you feel like you're just getting started. And Margarita puts her smile back on when she is done venting, and she is fine as a work partner.

Margarita shakes her head as the elevator descends. Her silky dark hair waves like a curtain. Like sea grass. Like a horse's tail. An irritable horse. Her ear studs sparkle in the blue-white light of the recessed ceiling lights.

"Because if they sent us home, that would be it for me and Olivia until fall semester," she continues. "At least this way Olivia and I are in the same bed every night. Even if that's all we see of each other." She sighs again.

Olivia and Margarita were caught having sex at the hospital by someone unsympathetic. Nothing unethical or anything that interfered with their duties. And now they were punished by being separated into different training departments with staggered shifts. Unlike your own case, the only romantic pair in your training group are suffering the consequences because they were unlucky with who caught them.

Their punishment seemed petty in a way you do not approve of. But this is a small town with many small-minded people, and some of them have power here.

"Oh, hey, Anna," Margarita says. "Olivia thinks she can get away for lunch. Do you think you could help us out a little, the way I told you yesterday?"

"I would be very happy to." To help Margarita and Olivia get **** on the small-minded people by giving them cover for a lunch time sex date. You have heard it said that living well is the best ****.

"Oh, no, don't worry, we mopped it all up," Margarita says. "The problem with getting frisky in a storage closet is, well, people store things in it. Oopsie. At least it was a bottle of floor cleaner. Well, hey." She shrugs. "Girl Scouts. Leave the campsite better than you found it."

A laugh catches you by surprise. Margarita grins and winks. You nod and let her head back to the trainee dressing room.

You had been hoping for a chance to watch the lovers and maybe enjoy yourself, but it was a tight little time spot and you had to keep a close watch. Maybe another time. Or perhaps Margarita and Olivia could do you a favor. If you could think of one.
