New job, new opportunities

"God, today was a roller coaster." Lisa sighed immediately as she shut the door behind her. She was incredibly glad that her first day of work was over. It was a little weird, from the nurses to the head surgeon, to just about everyone.

One thing she was glad about was that she got to do some work, albeit under heavy inspection, but with time she would be able to go off on her own. After dinner, she fell right asleep to the sound of Grey's Anatomy playing on her TV.

Within the first two weeks, Lisa learned a lot about Alliance Hospital. One of them was that most of the nurses hated each other. Now, she was a very reserved person, and she kept to herself when she noted that she wasn't needed or appreciated in a place, but these nurses, they seemed to dislike each other, and they openly let it show. Oh, and they hated her too, lot. The ones who didn't hate her were simply undecided. Who knew what she would do that would make them switch to the hating side.

"What's so funny?" Lisa felt a little stupid, the way John laughed at her. She looked down, avoiding all eyes until both of them were inside the elevator.

"Your shock. It's not quite a surprising thing here. Everyone fucks everywhere." John shrugged, leaning across Lisa to hit the elevator buttons. He attempted to look into her eyes, but she just looked away, digging a hand into her pocket and pulling out her phone. He huffed, rolling his eyes internally.

"It's actually very irresponsible." Lisa just rolled her eyes, pretending to be completely disgusted at the thought of it. "And a bit unsanitary."

"You take things too seriously, Lisa. Maybe you should live a little." He poked her a little in her sides, earning a giggle and a soft slap to his shoulder.
