"Right, the lockout menu," Alina said.

"I was told that I would be given full access when we agreed to this arrangement with your island," Miguel said. "Grant me complete control."

"We intend to but we simply need to go over it first," Alina said. She tapped some keys on her terminal and the large monitor switched to show a night vision view of Camila asleep in her room. She had simply fallen into bed without dressing for it. He could make out her nude form underneath the thin blanket. Alina continued "For the moment she is staying in room 116 of the employee area. You can assign her to a guest's room or even your own but she should return to 116 every so often."

"Why is that? And what does that have to do with the tablet?"

"We are getting there. Tammi, you want to take it from here?"

"116 is wired up differently from the other rooms," Tammi said, sounding excited. Miguel guessed this was her specialty. "We are beta testing some additional features there. You see, the necklaces are more than just lights, they can also be used to dispense small quantities of psycho-tropic **** into her system." Miguel looked at her with a confused expression, so she clarified: "Mind-altering."

"Please continue," Miguel said, his confusion turning to a broad smile.

"These are not often used on the island, unless we have a special arrangement with a guest or an employee who is... recalcitrant," Alina interjected.

"Yes, they can generally lower the libido and increase arousal. Typically, however, the effect is temporary," Tammi continued. "Room 116 is part of my efforts in conjunction with your government to see about making the effects permanent."

"Permanent..." Miguel was very interested now. Something that could fix a troublemaker once and for all would be very useful in his line of work...

"Yes," Tammi said, "the science is rather complicated, involving sounds and rhythms played below the range of human hearing while the subject is asleep and under the effect of the ****. But if it works, it should result in a lasting change."

"Let's begin then!" Miguel said, eagerly.

"That's the part we needed to discuss," Alina said. "You can control the intensity of these changes but we needed to warn you: if you push too hard, we don't know what will happen. On the highest setting, you will hit her with enough stimuli to crack her subconscious. When her brain starts to rebuild it, the effects could be... unpredictable." Alina punched in her password and Miguel's tablet vibrated. "All those options are available to you now," Alina said.

Miguel thought for a second. The thought of molding the rebel into a compliant whore was incredibly appealing, and the faster that could happen the better. But if he broke her brain, would his commanders send any more... Miguel watched her chest rise and fall. He made his decision with a sinister grin.
