New Members!

"Who's the first applicant?" Liz asks from my right before taking a bite of her food. I hold the screen so the others can see the picture of the black-haired woman in the top left corner.

"Their name is Irene. She's a Lyna who uses the Ice School of Magic. She's 35 and is currently working as a freelancer for hire by any Guilds. She says her reason for applying is because she wants to join a Guild. She wants to stop doing freelance work for various Guilds and join one. She even says that since we're new, she won't have to worry so much about messing up. She fights from a distance with ranged ice spells, but she does use a dagger if she has to get close. She specializes in ranged combat but is okay at close-quarter combat. She has a few references here from Guilds she's worked with. It seems she's a patent and caring woman with a motherly aura. Oh, that's nice. There's a chart here showing her strength, I guess." I say while pointing to a chart in the bottom right corner, above the Next Applicant button. It's in a pentagon shape and on each point are the words Strength, Toughness, Speed, Magic, and Mana in that order. There's a letter beneath each number. Inside the pentagon is five smaller pentagons. There's color in the smaller pentagons where the applicant's stats are. Irene's Strength is B, her Toughness is C, her Speed is B, her Magic is A, and her Mana is A as well.

"I remember seeing these." Liz says upon seeing the chart.

"What is it?" Luna asks from behind me.

"It's a measurement of their abilities. The government runs a test on the applicants before they can apply to any Guilds. They just show how strong they are in these various fields. That said, just because they're high doesn't mean that they're strong. The max is S, then A, B, C, and finally D." Liz replies as Asami leans closer from my left to see.

"How good would you say her stats are? I just don't have anything to compare this too, so I don't know if these are average or not." Asami asks and I nod in agreement, having no clue if Irene is above average or average. She has two A stats, so I'm assuming she's good.

"These are good. Most applicants are new Lyna, so the majority will have mostly D's and C's. Occasionally you'll find some with B's but those are rare. The reason hers are so high, is because she's experienced. She said she's worked as a freelancer, so she'll have fought monsters before. Most newcomers will only help with either already cleared Dungeons or very weak ones. In my opinion, you should accept her. She has experience, so you won't need to train her. Also, since she's this strong, you could take her to the Ruins. Not to mention, she might be able to help train the others. No offense to you guys, but I'm the only one here who understands how to teach others to use magic. Luna's magic is all about brute strength and Eric's game-like powers make it easier for him. Innu might be able to, but her magic is more a part of her. Besides, it'll be nice to have someone who specializes in range to go with you three brawlers." Liz says while looking at Luna, Innu, and I.

"I agree with Liz then. If she's able to join you in the Ruins then she'll be worth it. Then the teaching part Liz mentioned makes her more appealing. Oh, keep in mind that we only have seven rooms in the Guildhall ready for new members. We can finish some more if we get some more beds, but for now, we can only approve seven applicants at most." Asami says and I turn to Luna and Innu.

"I'm fine either way. I don't think she'll be a good sparing opponent though." Luna says and Innu nods in agreement. I smile before tapping the Accept button. A new box appears saying they'll be notified and that they'll contact me on my Guild Masters Device soon to schedule when they'll arrive.

"What's the Guild Masters Device?" Innu asks upon reading the screen. I take it out and show it to her. It's a small device that looks like a smartphone.

"It's this, it lets me manage the Guild. I can check any jobs the Government has for us, or pull up a list of members. I can even add notes to each individual member." I say while setting it down on the table. "But speaking of the rooms Asami, do you think we should build a separate dormitory building for the members?" I ask and she thinks it over.

"Yeah, that could be good. There are not too many places to live out here. There are mostly just apartments and hotels. So it would be nice if they had their own place. That way they could use their magic too." Asami replies and I nod.

"Then if we have enough after these Ruins and the construction of the arena. Let's hire Buildtos to make it." I say causing her to sigh with a smile. I look through the next applicant and decide not to accept her. She's another experienced Lyna, like Irene. But unlike her, this one doesn't have any stats at A. Her School of magic and fighting style is made to draw monsters to her and to tank their attacks with her heavy armor. But since her toughness is only B, we're unsure if she can handle the tougher monsters we'll face. Since she's already experienced, we're unsure how much she'll grow. However, if we had more than six available rooms, I would have accepted. After all, there will be times I need to send my Guild members into a Dungeon. She could've been a good person to send in. I continue on through fourteen more applicants. We decline all of them for various reasons. Some are too vague on their reasons, one doesn't even have a reason for applying. Liz points out that they probably applied to a bunch of Guilds. A few have bad references, saying they're lazy or too arrogant. As the next applicant appears, I get surprised when I see their picture.
