Nelly the Velociraptor

"...I'd like to take Nelly." You say with confidence. The clerk chuckles.

"Are you sure? She can be quite a handful." You don't hesitate to answer back with a nod. "Well alright then! I'll go get the paper work ready and she'll be yours. Go ahead and give her the good news while I get that ready." The clerk heads out of the enclosure while you head back in.

You call Nelly's name out, not getting a reply. It actually seems a bit quite. You soon hear rustling in the bush next to you, only to see the snot of said raptor inches away from your face. "Cleaver girl," She says with a wink and a peck on your nose. Before you can make any response, she leaps out and envelops you in a hug. While she might have been smaller compared to Sue or Terry, she seemed to be stronger in her hugging. Thankfully she lets you go, allowing you to breath again. "So John, I take it that you chose me?" Looking at Nelly, she looks calm and collected, but her tail swishing side to side and the raptor claw on her right foot taping like Morse Code was a dead giveaway that she was anxious. As soon as you nodded yes to her, her tail went stiff but her clawed toe sped up it's tapping. She slowly engulfed you in another hug. While this one was a strong hug as well, it wasn't as strong as the last one. It also felt deeper and warmer as she nuzzles into your neck.

You both stand there hugging each other for a good three minutes before parting. "We should head up to the front, I think the clerk is waiting." you say to her. She nods as she takes your hand, walking closely next to you as you walk to the lobby. Along the way, Nelly quickly said goodbye to both Sue and Terry, tears in eyes. As you watch them, you feel a bit heartbroken that you didn't take the others as well. But that was next to impossible as it was probably expensive for just one prehistoric girl, let alone three of them. After Nelly came back, you reassured her that you'd both come and visit them whenever she'd want. This put a smile on her face as she tried to keep any tears from forming, and failing extremely.

Both you and Nelly arrived at the front desk where the clerk had everything ready to go, including Nelly's personal affects, which was just some standard home workout equipment and a stuffed animal, which she quickly hid in a backpack. She had the cutest blush on her face. After signing your name and collecting a copy of the adoption agreement, along with some helpful info on Nelly and Velociraptors in general, you both walked out of the store as owner and pet.

You turned to look at Nelly, her hand holding yours and not even wanting to let go, "So, do you want to..."
