Neither: I Should Get Away From Here, THEN Let Her Out AND Interrogate Her...

As quickly as I set the bag down I pick it up again and set out at a ground eating lope. With dogs on her trail I am certain that it won't take long for the men chasing my associate to realize that they've been hoodwinked and come after us. In fact I'm surprised that they didn't realize what had happened just from the torn up ground under the tree...

I have two options for which way to go: deeper into the forest or back to the city. The men seem to know these woods well, which tells me that I would be smarter to head for the city. I head in that direction as fast as I safely can, only letting the young woman out once I can no longer hear the barking of the dogs.

I lay the bag down and the lady climbs out, gasping for air. "Thank you," She says, while standing and dusting herself off.

"Your welcome," I respond, and suddenly I realize I do not know her name, "a thousand pardons Miss, what is your name?" I ask with a slight bow.

"You can call me 'Jane Doe'," the woman I have just rescued says and looks at me expectantly, "what do I owe you; Mr...?" Jane asks, letting the invitation to share my own name hang there.

"You may know me as 'Nemo of Utopia'," then cut to the chase. "Jane, those men pursuing you said you were a Thief, what was it you stole?"

"Nothing," Jane replies, looking away.

"I find it hard to believe that they've sent dogs and men after you over 'nothing'," I state crossing my arms.

"You're not going to let this go, are you?" Jane asks.

"Nope," I reply, and she makes a face then shrugs. Reaching into a small pouch at her waist she pulls out four small spheres, one red, one blue, one yellow, and one green. Each of them seems to be made of slightly translucent crystal and carved with a deep groove around the middle which splits to outline a button like protrusion on one side. The green one is glowing, and as I instinctively reach out a hand the yellow one flies into it and begins to glow as well!
