Nature Class One

I wanted to put the embarrassing display behind me for the day and went to my room. I would prove myself again tomorrow. I ate a porridge of oats and eggs and rushed to class.

It was Elena’s fault. If only Elena had just given me release I would have proven myself. I will prove myself today.

Nature Class had started in arena two. Arena two was in a grass field surrounded by woods and next to a lake with a sandy shore. The stages had been stands of wood instead of marble. We were in a grass field next to the lake. Now the boy had only outnumbered the girls by one. One of the boys had left the academy after realizing it was a waste of time when he couldn’t lift his weight one step in the last class.

“I would never give up,” I thought. “Yesterday was an anomaly. Today will be different.”

The two adept instructors arrived at the center. When they said to begin, I started to look.
