Chapter 14 by Ggnt Ggnt

What's next?

Natsumi meets a lawyer

The next few days were strange. Emma acted surprisingly distant, but also extremely serious. She never gave permission for orgasms, but she did let Natsumi wear whatever she wanted.

Natsumi didn't feel much like going out. She felt like she'd get snatched up by border security if she did the wrong thing. Instead she stayed at home. She wasn't bored though, Emma made sure of that.

Emma must have spent every spare minute during her day on the web. The packages were basically non stop. Clothes, electronics, and most of all, painting supplies.

By the time of their meeting with the immigration lawyer Natsumi had a complete wardrobe, an extensive game collection, and enough art supplies to last for months. That was also the first day Emma tried to take some control back.

Natsumi understood the need for it though. They might be paying this lawyer but it was still a good idea to make a good first impression. Strangely she does feel more confident after she lets Emma pick her look.

Then it's time to meet the lawyer. He sighs as he sits down, "Miss...Komi? I've reviewed your file and I have to say...it doesn't look good."

Natsumi stared at him, "But...how? I've lived here my whole life," she thinks back to the wish, "well, most of it. I don't know Japan at all, this is my home. Why deport me? Why now?"

The lawyer tapped his pen on the table, "That's a very good question, but you may never get an answer. It's an election year and anti-immigrant sentiment is high. Deportations are polling well. You might be a victim of that more than anything else. There's no reason to deport you, but also you are no a US citizen and the state has the right to revoke your permission to live here at any time.

We can try arguing about your particular circumstances. Your history and relationship with this community but...I don't see much evidence at all. You are practically a ghost. Besides your roommate, can you produce witnesses to speak on your behalf?"

Natsumi gulped and shook her head, "I'm...a bit of a shut in..."

The lawyer sighed, "And no job? Really, it doesn't look good. If you pay me I'll take the case and I promise I'll do my best, but my advice would be to just accept it and return to Japan and apply for reentry. You'll be more likely to get permission to return if you leave voluntarily."

Emma slammed her hand down, "No...she can't go. What....what about marriage? What if we get married, then she can stay, right?"

The lawyer looked at her skeptically, ", Perhaps... you know that marriage fraud is a crime right? And trust me they will find it suspicious when a woman about to be deported suddenly gets married."

"It's not fraud. I love her," Emma turned to Natsumi and grabbed her hand, "I mean it. Natsumi...I'm sorry. This is all my fault...but I'm not lying. I love you."

"Emma..." Natsumi said softly.

"Listen this is not a good idea. We're done here. Please, take my advice. Japan is a wonderful place, you'll love it." He stood up and hurried out.

"Emma...I love you too but...I can't marry you," Natsuni hesitated, "Sorry, I mean I can't marry you yet. I love you but we have barely started to date. It's too soon to marry."

"But..." Emma said, "...then I'll come with you. To Japan."

"What? You can't, you love your job." Natsumi said.

"I love you more. But let's not talk here, let's head home."

"Ok. Let's go home."
