Nathan the streamer

Your a fairly well known gamer, making enough streaming you could quite your shitty job and afford a modest life simply playing games and interacting with your fans. Occasionally to keep your numbers up, you’ve picked up the habit of letting your fans pick a challenge for you, and set consequences, if they cumitively donated a grand you’d accept the challenge.

One day, you got an interesting challenge. A fan named Alostsoul put the idea to get through an entire level of the latest FPS on hardcore difficulty without dying, but if you couldn’t the next streaming session you’d have to wear a neko maid outfit the entire stream. You laughed when you read it aloud, knowing this was a small trend you had seen before but never thought of doing yourself. You joked for your fans to pony up if they wanted to see it... which to your surprise they instantly did.

You sighed, rolling your eyes, buttons the chat it was on. You loaded it up, and went at it. Apparently eager to distract you, while playing some followers started dropping small donations that triggered loud noises or flashed across your screen. Unfortunately, between the distractions and the difficulty of the game, you kept making enough small mistakes to quickly lose.

The chat cheered, and you noticed the apparent hype caused it to be the largest numbers of watchers you’ve had in over a month. You told them to tune in next session to see the payout, and logged off, annoyed at yourself but still oddly excited fir your payday and what you were obliged to do for strangers on the internet.
