Chapter 4 by TheFallacyGuy TheFallacyGuy

POV Choice

Natalia: School's in forever

A couple of weeks went by. Lonesomely. Boringly. Emptily. And then new school life began.

As the archway that was the front entrance illustriously opened up before me it revealed the dome-shaped main area that served both as a cafeteria and as a study hall with long wide hallways leading off to the sides, shaping the building like an octopus of renowned architecture. A bustling of students were moving, talking, living in between these grand walls like a beehive of learning and pursuits of futures.

"Woooow...." I exclaimed out loud: "... this fucking sucks."

School sucked. Everything about it sucked. The food sucked, the subjects sucked, the teachers sucked, the pupils sucked. Why would this be any different? Everything looked so cold and sterile. Everything about the sight before me screamed: "We only care about your test results". I looked at my welcoming pamphlet that looked more like a "get well soon" greeting card than an actual brochure.
Homeroom, then physics.
Physics... great. Can't wait to know about the Doppler principle or whatever it's called.

I made my way down to the classroom that was going to be my "secondary home", as the brochure explained it. I opened the door cautiously.

"Pfffffffffttt...." a loud emittance of sound crawls from between my vibrating lips.

"Let's see what I have to work with..." I thought to myself.
Granted it didn't look great, but no sense in trying to make enemies.

Upon first scan I noticed a couple of things.

1) Almost no one were talking to each other. It was like it was everyone's first day in a new school.
2) The group towards the back right were definitely a trio of cheerleaders. The clothes matched and the bitchy attitude seemed to match as well. They were also some of the few people who actually conversed.
3) The girl at the front of the class was a nerd. The Parker Square t-shirt, cargo pants, and the PS Vita on her desk gave it away. Most likely openly lesbian as well. There were two "♀" symbols interlinked drawn on her pencil case and she was very openly browsing lesbian fan fiction on her Android tablet. Chun Li x Cammy. Basic taste.
4) There was a girl in a wheelchair sitting towards the middle of the classroom. Her rather homely and girl-next-door appearance didn't give anything else away.
5) The fit girl at the back with the cotton-candy pink dyed hair and the tattoo on her left arm certainly looked like trouble, and should definitely be avoided. It was easy to tell, since the seat next to her was the only one in the classroom that was vacant, and she also had an aggre-

I stopped my profiling at the sudden realization. Oh, for fuck's sake. The only vacant chair meant that I, of course, had to sit there. Fantastic start. I am now in the most anti-social class imaginable, and the classroom had decided that I, as the new kid, would be best off sitting next to what is undoubtedly the school bully. Sweet.
